However one of them is a crime the other one is sanctioned by the state. Whilst shooting other people is deplorable, it does carry very severe legal sentences. I'm not sure what you'd be protesting to change there. Where as someone killed by a representative of the state law enforcement, seems to be characteristically acceptable, if the victim is poor. Interestingly, this doesn't seem to be so much of a problem elsewhere in the world.

Personally, I don't want to see or hear Eddie Izzard, Russel Brand, Joey Barton or any other celebrity or sportsman using their fame for political ends or protest. To be fair i do agree with you to an extent on this. I think this is more down to those people and what they would protest rather than the right to protest. In the case of the American Sport stars I think the silent protest is acceptable. They aren't actually ramming a political protest down your throat or talking nonsense.

So you'd agree with taking Fox News off the air, along with all those radio stations and internet stations that effectively utilise someone using their position to influence politics. These are very much situations where individuals use their celebrity or fame, to pursue political agendas.

No, just looking like utter t***s.

No, just looking like utter t***s. That's your opinion and that's fine. Although you may want to question why it has angered you so much. An event in a country you don't live in, in a sport you don't care for. Is slightly odd.

People in South America, North Korea, China etc, might disagree. No one is saying police killings don't have to be justified. It's more that self-interested groups are using it as a political sledgehammer, while diverting from much bigger issues that are less likely to encourage sympathy, at the same time. Politics. The entire alt-right is almost based on this. You have actors leading the NRA, a reality tv star in the white house etc. Its the norm, people use their position for influence.
