Surely the Burnley game is the final opportunity for FdB. We're the laughing stock? So be it, it's soon forgotten if we climb the table. Think Dougie and Sammy Lee at least would get the players fired up, and let them play it the Palace way....We have the players for it! Yep the same players who almost got us relegated the ladt two seasons.....and would have done if it hadnt been for sakho. These players just aren't good enough.

A lot of the same players that did very well under Pulis and Sam , imagine if either of those had had a full season , so the manager does seem to have an important part to play , as in setting up and galvanising the team , instilling self belief etc, etc.

I expect FdB has a meeting with SP every Monday. It's just another day in the premier league with a team that has a new manager who's first language is not Sarf London and has new ideas on developing our club.
We move in the direction of our thoughts. |

If this is true - and I suspect that it is - then he has been told to forget his ideals and to manage the players we have and use them to the best of their ability. Edited by The Dolphin (29 Aug 2017 10.25am)

If there is no improvement against Burnley, surely he will go. If Allardyce could be persuaded to come back, that would be great I wouldn't disagree with this in the slightest, part of me feels that with Sam suddenly coming back into the limelight that there may be a tinge of regret at making his hasty 'exit' and that now he's had time to think that he may well be open to coming back through guilt as to the position he left us in....but is that really a likely scenario? Knowing our club almost certainly! lol

On the other hand, of course, you could be completely wrong. Dominic Fifield doesn't generally "make up stories" and if you really believe that no blame attaches to de Boar for our truly chaotic start to a new season, and that it's all just business as usual, then you could well be in line for the Most Deluded Poster in the next HOL Awards.

It wasn't just Fifield who is close to the news at Selhurst. It was 3 other reporters too. Edited by Rudi Hedman (29 Aug 2017 11.24am)

I actually find all these stories hard to believe. Why, as Chairman, would I leak the details of my meeting. Why wouldn't I conduct it in private. It could be about anything and part of every day business. Any leak weakens our position in the transfer market. Mind you if it wasn't about his future where is the denial. Bad business conduct all around. Basically what I concluded was Dom Fifield knew that there was a meeting happening - had no idea what it was about but decided it was one where Frank had to beg for his job. He came out of the meeting and wasn't sacked and Dom reported it as "clinging onto his job". A complete load of s*** stirring bollox in my opinion.

None of us really know what's going on, so its a question of which rumour we choose to believe (if any). Personally, I hope that Parish did give FdB a right b........* cos he certainly deserves it. I hope also he has been left under no illusion that his job IS on the line and if results, and a more pragmatic style of play isn't in evidence soon, he's out.
