I always thought the problem with Puncheon was that he thought he had more time with the ball than he actually had. Which is why he is sometimes a liability with the ball.

Cant knock them today though.

Can't knock the form table under the new captain.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

Chelsea were outstanding today, they played a lot better then they have in matches that they've managed to win. Hazard in the 1st half was mind blowingly good, all of which reflects on us very well indeed. They couldn't finish for peanuts.

great 3 points tho.

He's been off the boil this season, but to be fair, that was Eden Hazard he was up against. Insanely good player.

What frustrates me more from Ward is his poor passing. His passes forward to Zaha have been atrocious BUT, we won.

We can thank Ward for his hard work and improve in that position in the summer.

Now Palace are back to what they were, a strong defensive side that can counter-attack with devastating effect. They've been playing as a unit instead of a bunch of strangers since the disaster against Sunderland. Big sam has got them playing sound fundamental football, which was Pardew's fatal error in that he wanted them to be more "expansive" going forward and not tend to their defensive duties. I can't criticise any of the player's performances today. On the goal, Hazard had all day to make a play and Ward was stuck on his own without help. Otherwise Hennessey stopped everything thrown at him and is playing his best of the season. Sakho is a huge difference maker and I have to wonder what he did to get on the wrong side of Klopp. Puncheon is a completely different player wearing the arm band, Wilf is playing at a level unseen and Milivojevic is an entirely different class from what we're used to. Enough gush, now we have to ready for Soton away, another tough task No let-offs at this stage.

Excellent performance. Rode our luck but that is a game we would definitely have lost 2 months ago.

Very impressed with Sam's substitution when Dann went off. Realised Damo needed cover, so brought 2 defenders on to make up for 1. That is something Pardew wouldn't have done, and shows how superior Sam's game management is.

Gonna enjoy a few tinnies tonight, come on you Palace !!!

just as well we had them today

This game should be high on the MOTD running order. It will be interesting to see if the pundits spend more time on Chelsea's inadequacies in the game or on our performance.
