So this has been 'close' now since Sunday, with many believing that it would be announced Monday only because nothing can be officially done on Sunday's. It's now Tuesday and no movement. Why is it when other teams are close it's announced that evening but when it's Palace our version of close is 5 wage discussions with the Agent and 2 weeks away? Hopefully this gets announced today or tomorrow at the latest. On the bench for City, starting 11 for Bournemouth. When you work it out, get back to us!

My guess is that because people on this site trawl social media and other avenues looking for snippets of information that the rest of us can't be bothered to search for (it is much appreciated by the way, no slur intended), we get to hear about it far earlier, which means that it seems like a long time. I am sure that if we supported scunthorpe then it would be a similar story. Its not. We do take a ridiculous amount of time to sign anyone.

He played for Sunderland in the last round. Ah okay, not too fussed about him featuring for City anyway. I'm just glad we have the opportunity to have FA Cup weekend before next Premier League fixtures because it should mean we bed in the players before the next Prem game. To be fair, that did happen with Schlupp and he was able to start against Everton as a result. It will just be annoying if we take our time over this (like we always do) sign him Saturday/Monday before Bournemouth and then say he either has to start on the bench or miss it completely due to paperwork. We must have him in this side of the City game because we can afford to lose that one but not Bournemouth!

Sunderland announce signing of Joleon Lescott, does that mean they will sell now?

Does that must mean that buying a left back from a relegation rival, and signing a 35 year old on a six month deal is "preparing to survive"?

The one thing I haven't seen any comments about is pace. I noticed (albeit through a terrible stream) that Schlupp gave some great cover against Coleman (still a sore point) and it was his pace that made him look assured. We don't see to have much pace in our squad. Wilf has it, Yannick had it and Souare could potentially never have it again. But who else (if anyone says Andros I will hunt you down)? Will Schlupp and PVA give us the pace we need? I hope so. So not only firming up the left side, but allowing good cover. I would like to see us get pacey players all over the shop. Imagine a Jedi with pace or a Cabaye that could catch people rather than just kick their heels or let them run past. Would probably be out of our price range. I saw Kante last season and what I liked about him was his ability to cover the short space of ground that would give the opposition time. He is a real boss because of his pace IMHO. He isn't their best player and he might not have been Leicester's best player, but what he brings to the side because of pace is immense. Anyway, pace. Does PVA have any? (Which would be ironic given the acronym).
So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet. |

I don't think anything through. I came on to ask one quick questions about pace and ending up writing a book.

I looked at his play a couple of times. Van Aanholt is a very fast left back. His defensive abilities are not the best, but he is quick.
