Surely, we should be aware of the club's history even if we should not be bound by it? For the record, our best league finishes in 111 years are: 3rd, 10th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 15th, 20th, 18th, 20th, and R, R, R, R, R, R. Not great is it? So, while we should aspire to better I don't think we should take our status for granted and expect we will be a solid mid table team when we have only once been in the top flight this long. To say otherwise is surely both unrealistic and ahistoric. As such, I would like to see a change of manager but, again, I find the routine abusive comments and the extreme claims about how bad AP is as a manager to be asinine in the extreme and factually false. He is our second best manager in terms of league placing and in serious cup competitions. Only one manager has done better in our entire history. In THAT period, Coppell's win % was less than Pardew's is now. Just to clarify for the "fans" who think Pardew is our worst ever manager. Edited by Tim Gypsy Hill '64 (12 Dec 2016 11.37pm)

Rolling over having our tummies tickled and throwing away 1,2,3 points week after week and embarrassing ourselves is not doing that. Feck it, keep the loser, settle for less or anything mentality. That's how to succeed and stay wher we are after all. Jesus feck. ..you are assuming the very very worse, I on the other hand assume the best and can see our defence improving and have witnessed it during the last two games, we are struggling back there and so are all the other teams up to Bournemouth in twelfth who are only three points away, we have the best goal diff up to Southampton who are tenth with only five points more then us. I can see us beating moan.u on Wednesday and I'm going to enjoy the build up and game, you appear to be not enjoying this season, if we stay up I'm going to say I enjoyed that, If we go down I'm going to say I didn't enjoy those last damaging games but I enjoyed all the others ..whereas you are just going to be sad and miserable the whole season long and if we do survive you might very well regret missing out on a great entertaining season.

41% win rate. Stop frothing at the mouth. When the squads watch the recent videos of us they do not care about Coppell, Smith, Bassett Pardew pre Christmas 2015. All they care about is how weak, pathetic and unprepared and unaware of what's about to happen in front of us and how confident they are of exploiting it. And they are because of how sh1te and pathetic we've been this season spreading back into last season. That is what they're aware of. All the excusers and white flag wavers bring up form of 12 months ago backwards. Unbelievable. Oh well, the bloke will be gone soon hopefully or we go down and I'll give myself some more Saturdays back and miss the sh1t teams midweek even though still paying whilst a lot of the pro Pardew brigade won't have internet access any more. ha ha.

Am I one of the Rudi 3 ? 1. I think we should be able to not let in 5 vs Swansea, 3 in all the games around that one, including 2 more dross sides, Burnley and facking Hull. 2. Tighten up like he said we had the day before 5 goals conceded vs Swansea? Then the players had to call their own defensive training for Southampton, Pardew accepted, his neck was on the line after all, then back to joke defending again away from 20,000 of us. 3. 'Runs like we have been on can't go on that long.' Are you for real? How long did it go on for last time? The only reason we beat Southampton was their schedule caught up with them and yes, at some point a coupon buster happens. Is that what we're now relying on, playing teams in really bad formi like the other 3 wins this season? FFS, we've come so far and are letting sentiment keep this sh1t going. Any outsider would've been gone ages ago.

So do i as I have been for a long time and which is why if we surrender by hanging onto this berk I will give myself some days off. It'll probably be more difficult for me then anyway. They'll still get my loot to pay Pardews wages in the championship which I wouldn't be surprised at.

And you actually "know" all this? Are you Mystic Meg? You know nothing of the future. You assume that we will fail under Pardew. And we all know that to assume makes an ass of (yo)u and me. He kept Newcastle ticking over quite well, while their chairman sold every decent player they had. Why could he not do that here? Without the chairmen pulling out the rug from under his feet.
