Aren't they just the normal, pretty standard clichés that all footballers churn out when asked why they picked one particular club

Wilshere joined them because of his best mate, it was nothing to do with Pards or us as a club. Their chairman said today that it was a team effort but Afobe played a very big part. We were never in the running.

Yup, that and the fact that Bournemouth agreed to pay 100% of his wages [rather than the high % we offered] and Arse thus [possibly?] put the kybosh on him joining us. Obviously I am not certain that he preferred us over Bournemouth; but whether or not he did, he is hardly likely to say so now is he? Ah yes. I remember him. Shared Dwight Gayle's off the ball work rate. And his keep possession play was A1, not. (lets not confuse possession play with a good passer of the ball, which he was, admittedly)
