Green taxes for taxes sake. Fossil fuel is going to run out so they need a new line of finance. As one poster said the other week. CO2 is not the gas we should be worried about. It’s methane. Wouldn’t you know it. This is just a line when I googled what’s worse. Each of those puffs coming out of a cow's plumbing, added together, can have a big effect on climate because methane is a potent greenhouse gas—about 28 times more powerful than carbon dioxide at warming the Earth, on a 100-year timescale, and more than 80 times more powerful over 20 years

If memory serves carbon dioxide does not burn, but methane does. Has there been any thought about providing extractor fans in milking parlours and cattle sheds so that the methane can be harvested? Energy cost and climate change both reducing we hope. n

I’ve said all along it’s bollox and it clearly is. Ffs our farts are more dangerous than our cars and boilers. Why is no one in authority getting a grip and a pair of balls.

Have we really descended into cow burps? Get on a plane and fly over Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe or where ever and then come back and tell me that cow burps are a problem. Do the maths if you like but the vast majority of land in this world is entirely empty. At the same time tell me that banks and corporation (and media) do not stand to massively profit from “net zero” By the way Greta is a climate expert. f***ing clown world strikes again.

I don’t want to back anyone into a corner and appreciate your reply which seems genuine. My motivation is that the most people possible are well informed. I don’t think that’s the case right now.

Tbh I don’t need backing in to a corner; I normally paint myself in very well thankyou as you’ve probably read a few times . The point on here is we arnt all as learned as some and certain posters should be clever enough to realise that, not rinse the ones who, and I admit with myself are not as learned. Literal language is how I and others post.
