Since the year 2000, around 62,000 Nigerian Christians have been killed by the Hamas equivalents in that country, along with around 34,000 Muslims. !8,000 Christian churches have been set on fire along with 2,200 Christian schools. Five million Christians there have been displaced into refugee camps.

Can't recall weekly protests about this, or daily posts from the likes of you deploring it.

We’ve done this before… military superpowers who have signed international treaties are held to a different standard than terrorist organisations.

Whatabouttery on steroids.

The political left in Britain are silent and compromised because their voting base....somewhat amusingly is also the mostly socially conservative Islamic fiefdoms who only vote for them as a temporary marriage of convenience.

I think it’s more to do with the fact that Boko Haram aren’t our trading partner and military ally, personally, but each to their own.

What would the protest be? ‘Terrorists are bad!’

Yeah sure, that's what it is.

Islamic terrorists are inevitable wherever a minority population of that religion exists...it's a by product of a reasonably common interpretation of their religion.

You want to know the countries that don't have Islamic terrorists? You can find them out quite easily, they all have one rather striking thing in common.

But you’d think the people on the marches would value all human life that was being killed, not just the ones that are fashionable to protest about. But as you say, each to his own…

The Palestinians are no more interested in living in peace with Israel than the Jews are interested in living in peace with them.

Because people, especially soft living middle class types in the west are removed from day to day conflict in their filtered lives there's this underlying...'if only A stopped killing B'..and .'can't they just get along' and 'brotherhood of man' plea in their hearts.

It's divorced from the reality of a world they can't really imagine....if they were born into it they would instinctly understand the reality of ethnic blood feuds.

Previous generations a couple and more back understood, because warfare was far more common for them.

It shows just how important it is to avoid escalation early on...the build up to war is where you need the peacemakers....Once uncles' have been shot and daughters' raped there is no going back from that.

Unfortunately for that part of the world there was no going back after 48. Two rival castles can't exist within the same landmass....This was always the conclusion.

The middle class in the west are still playing Lennon's 'imagine' and will never wake up until it's them personally in the trenches with the bullet wound.

You regard Israel as a genocidal terrorist state, so shouldn't you hold them to the same standard?

I copied the below over from a source I use.

It's quite the muddle the Biden administration has placed itself in with its own base.....it's donors want one thing but the American left wing base, most definitely aren't happy about it.

The US has privately admitted that Israel regularly bombed buildings without credible knowledge that they were military targets.

The Washington Post reported this, citing sources.

"Senior Biden officials privately told a small group gathered at the White House what they would not say in public: Israel routinely bombed buildings without credible evidence that they were legitimate military targets." publications

According to the newspaper's sources, the group consisted of officials associated with foreign policy from the Biden administration, as well as previous American leaders. They also discussed Israel's apparent lack of a plan to defeat the Palestinian Hamas movement, the sources said.

Earlier it was reported that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu criticized the West for putting pressure on Israel to end the war

Your insinuation here seems to be that you don’t value human life unless you go on a march about it, which I’m sure you’d agree is nonsense. I’m going to hazard a guess that you don’t attend marches about any such atrocities - does that mean you don’t care about human life at all? Disgusting!

Silly, isn’t it..?

Again, the protests for Palestine are protests against the British governments ongoing reaction (or lack of) to the atrocity, given it is being perpetrated by our military ally and trade partner.

How do you protest against random atrocities committed by terrorist organisation whom we have no affiliation with? To ask again, what would be the aims of such a protest?

I’m again just surprised the knots people tie themselves in around this topic to maintain a nonsensical position. Trying to draw equivalence between the actions of terrorist organisations and a military superpower, all while trying to maintain a position that the terrorist organisations are evil, but the military superpower are doing nothing wrong.

It's going to be a while yet as diplomatically we are at stalemate.

Yes, I see land grab as Israel's hidden motive. From the River to the Sea is a Palestinian rallying cry, but one that appears to be at the core of the current Israeli objective.

I wouldn't be surprised to find ordnance in the conflict being labeled "Made in Britain".
