Ask any of our squad. Would you like to play for a team in the champions league? If anyone says no they will either be lying or fully aware of their ability. Wilf is obviously one of the few members of the squad who actually has the ability so why would he say otherwise. This story is nothing new. Club receives good enough offer. Club will sell. Same for every player and every club. I have no problem with players stating ambition. I do have a problem with players who make clear steps to force a move/renew contract to the detriment of their teammates/club. I.e Arnautovic saga. For me this falls into neither category and is just papers trying to sell papers...the clickbait headline does not match the content.

Its just a journalist wanting to make a name for himself, if Zaha wanted to leave, this wouldn't be the way to do it. My guess he was asked leading questions and answered them honestly, not realising how it would be presented.

Stopped clock and all that..

He ain't going anywhere, he's playing for a pay rise, which he's got form for.

If anyone was remotely interested in him the last thing he'd do is go public like this and jeopardise it. We all know that agents and managers have ways of tapping players up on the sly, if the big teams had any interest in him the wheels would already be in motion and he'd have no need to do this.

Personally I don’t see it like that at all. This is exactly how he would carry on if he wanted to force a move. Focusing on ambition and realising potential as the catalyst for his move. It’s how football works. These are hard quotes this time, difficult to misinterpret.

It’s a journalist with quotes, no ambiguity this time round. You are just choosing to ignore what he is saying, with the greatest of respect. Just because he hasn’t been quoted as saying I want to leave palace doesn’t mean that’s what he has said doesn’t translate to the same thing. I’m sure more will come out but right now with the evidence at hand it will only depend on if someone pays us what we want whether he goes or not.

So Wilf has come out and denied it then?

He stated he should be playing in the Champions League so won't just go anywhere unless it's a club that can guarantee that. So Man C, Arsenal, Man U, Spurs, L'pool or Chelsea
then if wnts to stay in England. Spurs will probably offer £20 million, maybe Chelsea might want him but not the others. We shouldn't even consider any bids below 70 million..

No. But for me saying "I want to leave Crystal Palace" and "I'd like to play in the champions league" are two very different things...albeit they'd have the same outcome. I just feel the second is hardly disrespecting the club. Of course you may think the opposite.

Given the choice I'd rather we had players who have the ambition and talent of playing at the highest level than not. Sakho stated something very similar to Wilf earlier in the season and I've no problem with that either. It'd change if either started to upset the changing room but I think they're far too professional and respectful of that.

No it ain't. You honestly believe this is a "come and get me" plea? Is it bollox. Top players get tapped up behind closed doors like Cashley Hole.

The Peter Odenwinge approach didn't even work for him, let alone Zaha.

He gets a pay rise every summer under the threat of moving. None of the top six are in for him:

1) City- ample cover, can buy anyone if they want to strengthen.
2) United. Bridges well and truly burned
3) Chelski- transfer embargo
4) Liverpool- Ample cover with Chamberpot still to come back
5) Spurs- Ain't gonna spend 50m
6) Arsenal- maybe, although they run a very tight ship and aren't likely to be impressed with this interview.

He'll most likely be staying then as I doubt we'll get any bids at or above that.

If Salah goes this could be a possibility.
