This isn't a school playground.

Politicians generally are forced to do what is right for their own selves or at least the people that vote them in and out.

What possible reason does the EU have to make this easy on the UK? They want Germany or France or whoever it may be to think twice before Germexit or Frexit.

In addition to making the process painful the last thing they want to see is the UK economy booming right after leaving their club.

This is how the world works. When voting for Brexit did you believe that idiot David Davis who said we would have trade deals the next day or whatever it was he lied about?

I get it mate, some people are against being in the EU. That is entirely different to whether or not it is easy to exit the EU, and what motivation the EU has to make it easy/successful for the leaver.

If the EU had been a bit more flexible and thrown Cameron a bone we wouldn't been in this mess. It's the EU's intransigence that is the problem. They never thought we would vote leave so didn't bother to offer concessions. Now they find that if they do other countries will want the same.

One more point

That the fact the EU wants to make it difficult to leave is an example of why people voted to leave. As previously mentioned when we joined the Common Market there were 6 members; now there are nearly 30. This is not the same entity that we joined.
