Before anyone gets excited, it's an 18 year old playing in the Belgian second division that some journalist says we and Chelsea are interested in - probably because Leverkusen want him on a free in the summer, so they've made this up to get them to offer cash in January.

Agreed that it will probably come to nothing but Club Brugge are often in the Champions League and this kid came on as sub in both games against Man City, he was 16 at the time.

Club Brugge are not in the Belgian second division. They are a regular competitor in the Champions league, therefore we would represent a step down for the lad (despite the better quality league). We'd be lucky to get him. I'm betting we wont even come close.

Yes, I fear without finding a creative midfielder we could find ourselves in dire trouble come the end of February - especially if Vieira doesn't crack the whip and get the team to play with more determination which has been noticeably lacking of late.

Perhaps I’m putting two and two together and coming up with 5 but Gordon has just gone on loan and Ebiowei shortly will follow him. They’ve both featured on the bench a fair amount and I’d be surprised if we let them go without additional players lined up to come in at least for the squad. I suppose Plange and/or Rak Saki could be recalled as replacements but this seems unlikely.

I will be very surprised if we sign anyone that would go straight into the 1st team. There are lots of rumours about young players (teenagers and early 20's) that would appear to be planning for the future. So, a couple of loans is probably all we can realistically hope for.
