The next time I see someone who is 'right wing' I will let them know. Caring and giving is a natural part of being a parent or a grandparent. Wishing to protect your family's interests is an extension of that. Helping or giving advantage to others at the expense of those close to you is just plain idiotic.
Many sources of information can take a detached view and seek objectivity. The problem with anyone on the right or left fringes is that they see bias in everything other than their own opinion. Caring about those outside of your immediate family is a vital part of a decent society. Just remember that not everyone has a family to care for them.

Not the evidence I’ve seen but we’ll draw our own conclusions. I am on the "right of the spectrum" but probably not as far as you! I have a major problem with anyone seeking to subvert the education system to the advantage of their child and disadvantage of another. Education provision should be solely on merit. It is totally in all our interests that the most able should receive the best available education and that the social and economic position of the parents not play any kind of role. I realise that is both impractical and in some ways counter productive but we need to ensure that merit become the most important criteria.

No source for your information though? Actually in the US, IRS data has shown that conservatives give far more to charity than those on the left. 'Republicans give more to charity – but not because they oppose income redistribution' [Link] 'Republicans Give More to Charity Than Democrats' [Link] Was going to say surely it’s in church donations just as a hunch but the article proves it. That doesn’t count surely? I’ve had some American clients that donate eye watering amounts to their churches, which is all well and good but i’m not sure it’s really getting to the places it’s needed.

You really shouldn’t try to guess anyone’s political leanings from posts on a football website.

'Right wing' is a term of convenience, as is any other political label. I am not on any wing but clearly, your reasoning is on its last legs.

Don't tell Stirling this, his brain couldn't handle it. Haha I have to agree with Hrolf on this. Labelling is pernicious and divides people unnecessarily. Said it many times to Stirling but, as I am not his Dad as far as I know, he never takes me seriously.

I have actually noticed a lack of reflection from you, as you rarely take any time to consider things. Living in enclosed dark spaces, likes coffins, tends to have that effect. Try to get out into the light and open spaces. You can see a much brighter world out there.

My interests are purely self serving and my thoughts my own. I have seen plenty of the world in all senses and nothing I have seen makes me want to invite the worst parts of it to anywhere near me.
