In recent times all the brainwashing is coming from the right (just look at the way Trump controls his "base" with propaganda). Those who care, and give, without expecting anything in return are the bedrock of a decent society. How recently and the link to it then.

Any correlation between that stat and lefties nicking all the good school places for their kids? That's another strange thing. Most of the evidence I have seen suggests it's those with money and influence who "nick" all the good school places and work the post code lottery to their advantage. My observation is also that those with influence and money tend to be conservative in outlook, so certainly not "lefties", even if they are the more balanced and reasonable type of conservative than we find on here.

How recently and the link to it then. It was in the last week and I did provide a link to it then. Here it is again. However there are lots of similar studies if you really want to find them,

Those who care, and give, without expecting anything in return are the bedrock of a decent society. The next time I see someone who is 'right wing' I will let them know. Caring and giving is a natural part of being a parent or a grandparent. Wishing to protect your family's interests is an extension of that. Helping or giving advantage to others at the expense of those close to you is just plain idiotic.

Actually in the US, IRS data has shown that conservatives give far more to charity than those on the left. No source for your information though? Actually in the US, IRS data has shown that conservatives give far more to charity than those on the left. 'Republicans give more to charity – but not because they oppose income redistribution' [Link] 'Republicans Give More to Charity Than Democrats' [Link] Was previously provided and was again for those unable, or unwilling, to check back. As I would wager the average Republican has more disposable income than the average Democrat it is hardly very surprising that they might give more to charity in the USA. It's the way things are done there. Some things ought not be left to charity as they are the responsibility of us all. Giving is not though all about money. It's giving time, thought, respect and value which really matter. Giving money often just makes the giver feel they have done their job and they can now forget everything else.
