We are in the current mess because of the Irish back stop. The EU will not remove the back stop because they do not want border controls. The ERG propose that these customs controls could be done electronically and away from the border (Max Facilitation) the EU rejected this idea as impractical. Meanwhile the EU has announced that if there is a no deal Brexit customs controls will be done electronically and away from the border err. We are in this mess because we have the second weakest leader since the war, the first being Cameron. Neither wanted Brexit, yet both allowed it.

Do you have any examples of the new market opportunities you refer to? I'm Intrigued

With the useless bunch of hopelessness overcrowding Whitehall, I honestly believe we would be better now to stay in until the EU implodes which is not far away. 100% agree in bold. I partly agree with your surrender but the problem is I fear that if the EU’s implosion is 10+ years away then we’re still stuck with their decision making for our land. However, the rebalancing is going to take quite a while for the benefit of generations to come. But then if we were spending that 10+ years starting to develop new emerging markets and projects then we’d be in a better place after the EU collapse. I always thought pro Brexit Andrea Leadsome would’ve been a better bet but she made a comment millions of people would’ve made and the major point of the vote regarding children and their future, plus she didn’t have cabinet experience. The press destroyed that possibility so we were stuck with ‘That bl00dy difficult woman’ who is actually that bl00dy useless woman unless it’s administration. Anything involving human interaction and she’s a complete waste of time.

I'm Intrigued There’s a whole world out there. Our exports to the EU fell below 50% well before the financial crises in 2008 and keep falling. Obviously our non EU exports are above 50% and keep growing. You’re obviously unaware of this and have been sucked into the short term thinking, management and planning that has plagued this country for decades which has eventually become because we don’t want to forego a few non essential things in our addiction to buy and consume cr&p and tat. Well done to all in that mindset. It’ll hold our country back for time ahead. My business is completely irrelevant. Exports expand an economy. The end. Edited by Rudi Hedman (26 Mar 2019 9.46am)

No we are in the current mess because there is no whole-hearted consent for brexit as was necessary in 1975, 52/48 either way doesn't cut it. The result is paralysis and the future is of chaos and futility for many years with endless leave-remain tribalism. The only way out is to revoke article 50 now.

I struggle to understand why this is a new thing for you. The things you talk about have always been at the core of Parliament, and Democracy for that matter. If anything this just smacks of misplaced trust and massive amounts of naivety.

I must admit....the longer the whole Brexit saga goes on the more amused about it all I get. Maybe this is just the way I react to things.....but the more extreme the emotion the more amusement accompanies it.....and I say that as a staunch leaver of course.
