Yeah, I have often thought the same thing at selhurst, its them and us in the ground, but in reality we all live in the same areas and on the way home are just people ,doing the same jobs, workmates, pals, just citizens. Yep, it's a business...back in the past it made a bit more sense...Like the Pistols once said, 'ever get the feeling you've been cheated'? The areas might still be different now but the teams are essentially randomly diverse.....and when I say diverse I mean the original meaning of the word...As long as they are male they could come from anywhere. I was a Palace fan because as a child I had close family connections to the area and my grandfather was a steward, but now it's because I'm stubborn.....and the fact that it's the best name for a football club by far....and the 79 shirt was the best kit ever. Just another 59 years to be the team of the eighties again. Edited by Stirlingsays (13 Nov 2021 7.16pm)

Yeah, hopefully we can win something, anything, before then, and still be alive to see it! I try not to question it to much when I"m at a game, the "so what, its just another 3 points, we still aren"t going to win any titles or cups", but just try and roll with it, a tad poorer for the experience! Sounds about right. It feels weird saying it but it's about entertainment at the end of the day.

Yeah, guess so , and it is getting better on that front, pity my season ticket has gone, might renew it when the new stand is going up, just to see the progress, strange in itself!Football is a strange hobby to keep yourself entertained, once you get past a certain age going with your teenage mates!

Totally....probably the best experience you can have with your mates....though a big Eddie Hearn show is up there....but saying that that's also much more expensive. Everything costs an arm and a leg nowadays.....you'll be opening a bank account to have a p1ss next. I think if the new stand actually happens...and I'm not being cynical, then I think a lot of past match goers will want a peep.

It's not something I've stated as a fact, it's an opinion. Personally I think the evidence proves that it's a reasonable one but if you want to argue for a significant difference between hating and despising someone then fair enough. I know that and am delighted to see that you do too. I just hope that you continue to remember the difference. As to the difference between hate and despise, it's subtle but still important. Hatred can be temporary and forgiven. Despising is permanent and never forgiven. Trump's character is despicable, whilst some of the things he does are hateful.

Here is Russell Brand on the new Saudi deal. He might be rich but mentally he's a working class honest lefty and seems to have a bit of that rare throwback left libertarianism about him so he's easy to have time for.

I've always been about a person living their principles. I don't respect what someone says over what they actually do. I have more time for the honest person who says something I don't agree with but who is prepared to live it than the person who is vice versa and pretends.....fake principles are endemic in my view. People get carried away by what sounds good as they are obsessed with bubble and conformity acceptance but they aren't interested in paying whatever the practical price that comes with it....that's for others. That's what happens in reality. This isn't a right or left thing....it's a human thing....a system thing....a wealth thing. Here is a video from the New York Times.....so pretty much a core of leftist thought in America where it is talking about the difference between what people say....and what's the reality of what they actually do. They will, but never forget that the evidence of the Trump campaign's connections with, and support from, Russia goes well beyond what was in the Steele report. People have been indicted. That the Clinton campaign sought to expose these is also true. This is US politics, after all. The FBI had their own evidence, which the Steele report merely corroborated. Who yet knows whether someone, in their understandable desire to protect the USA from Trump, went too far. No doubt we will find out, but that mustn't be allowed to divert attention from the main story. Mueller didn't say there wasn't any evidence. Barr stopped charges being laid against Trump with his ruling that a sitting President cannot be indicted. It was Trump who, falsely, claimed he had been "exonerated". As I have repeatedly suggested, there is still a lot of water to go under the bridge. This could just be a small part of that. Meanwhile, in other news, Steve Bannon has been indicted for contempt of Congress, joining an ever-growing list of Trump associates to have faced charges.

I wouldn't read too much into that (I am not supporting him). Very few people indicted by Congress actually get to trial, the courts generally don't like it. Bannon can argue ho is being persecuted by a political party, these things normally end up with some kind of deal in the end.
