By all means disagree with people, this is an open forum, but can you please try to post something half intellectual, engage in debate or even be witty. I pop on this thread once a week for updates and have to trawl through your boring one line snipes at people. Looking forward to your predictable ‘cobblers’ response. More cobblers !!

Cobblers. Don’t be so silly. The atmosphere has dropped and it is detrimental to all of us and a huge scale. It’s a terrible scenario and the overwhelming majority are upset and concerned about it. Such a comment as cobblers is, I am afraid, an obtuse one.

No we are not leaving Europe, we’re leaving the European Union. Big difference. And football culture isn’t political or affecting personal finances or day to day life. Or why don’t we go back to taking the opposition end?
My post was nothing more than a sad attempt to inject a little humour, and lighten things up a bit, and have a gentle dig at the way things used to be pre HF......obviously a fail!

Away fans have been put in corners for decades for various reasons. Worse view. Initially it was a recommendation of the Taylor Report as it meant it was easier for clubs to ‘fence’ such areas off & control crowds. That faded as grounds were redeveloped, new stadia built & the whole “football experience” changed. For some grounds I’ve been to - especially the newer ones - the view from the corners is better than behind the goal or, at least, no worse. At SP it is clearly for policing reasons as it’s not even a true corner but simply the end of a stand - the old section which is now a TV studio was a proper corner section. Fact is, putting it behind the goal will cause the knock on effect that many/most will have to stand at times. Even if everyone at that end agrees it’ll not sit well against ground regulations & I can’t see the authorities turning a blind eye to such numbers (until safe standing is introduced). It may work better at the opposite end of the pitch but even then it could be a real issue with the authorities.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

The singing section will stand the vast majority of times and therefore in reality if behind the goal the whole end will become standing. Safe standing is likely to be a trial probably starting season after next for 5 years and then review. The guidance on it is almost certain to follow the German model discussed in earlier posts. The active demand (people who wish to take part) for a singing section needs to be ascertained then club can take an informed descision. In reality the consultation should take place this season over the next few months so any changes would be next season. I would have thought the club could be persuaded to reallocate the 100 HF block this season as from previous responses only a few have new season ticket holders
