Not so. I've already explained that I moved the thread out of sight because several complaints had been received last night and I didn't want to deal with them until the morning. My thoughts (and it's only a guess) is that someone had been celebrating Palace's win a bit too strenuously which affected his judgement on appropriate language And you do this for free?

That said, there were some good contributions and good points made by others. But we can't have a thread that offends some people's sensibilities so it was taken down.....If the site felt that way I fully support it as threats aren't positive. This is the way society is going. Surely you like a good debate (argument) or two? I find it quite fun. Especially in the off-season. Once the season starts, I'm sure Palace results will become more of a concern than political figures such as Trump.

And exactly what some of us are trying to resist. The issue was that this debate centred on race. These days it is so sensitive a subject that you can almost justify child molestation before you can opine on racial profiles. Rubbish, of course, as it is hardly novel to print bland statistical correlations between ethnic groups and voting. And it is no great leap from that to connect increased immigration with a change in voting habits. Where the OP may have crossed the line is stating that immigration is a bad thing as it will swing this country to the left. However, isn't that what free debate is all about..?

So Trump gets his way with the EU with trade negotiations. When we look at the reporting from the British UK media......They just don't mention that this is a big win for him.....and common sense for the EU who just can't afford trade wars. One of the things that the EU has agreed to buy more from the US? SOY BEANS.

One of the things that the EU has agreed to buy more from the US? SOY BEANS. Er, no. Trump gave in to the EU. His sabre rattling is just that, he always makes u-turns, just like the UK government with brexit. He realised aftermassive complaints from his own farmers and car manufacturers (who import many components from the EU) that he would start to lose votes with his tariffs, hence the cave in. The EU agreed a deal in a couple of days because the US wants to trade with the largest trade bloc in the world, whether Trump likes it or not. Meanwhile the UK can't agree anything, even after 2 years of talking with the EU. Edited by europalace (28 Jul 2018 7.14pm)

So tax dollars and increased prices as well. Protectionism - bit of a dummy isn't he. Apparently Junckers had brightly coloured idiot cards that explained what their trading relations were. He made no claims unlike Trump but said it was 'constructive'. Edited by bexleydave (28 Jul 2018 9.56pm)

There is reality and then there's what you are writing. Brussels came to Washington. Juncker came to Trump, not the other way around. The EU were desperate to avoid a trade war. In Juncker's own words, the EU came with 'a bridge to sell'. For the US not engaging in a trade war which would affect the EU far more than the US due to balance on trade....the EU has promised to buy more gas and SOYBEANS and work with the US on the WTO. The anti Trump machine is in overdrive looking to underplay this success for Trump anyway it can.....They are prepared to lie and nitpick out of dislike and painfully transparent media agendas. The truth is that the US will see its trade imbalance with the EU improve or those tariffs will be introduced. People like May should see that when the German car industry is actually threatened with real intent that deals can be made. Trump told her that she had the wrong mindset with the EU and we are seeing what happens when you have remainers in charge. Enjoy your US Soybeans. Edited by Stirlingsays (29 Jul 2018 12.31am)

The UK was part of the negotiation as it's still an EU member, so you will also enjoy the soy beans. Still, we buy a few soy beans and the US buys lots of cars and components that the US car manufacturing companies need. That's a massive EU win but of course I expected those in denial to remain in denial. The EU moves on with a nice deal with the US and also 2 weeks ago a massive deal with Japan. The UK meanwhile is still talking about a tiddly border in Ireland.
