Twice wrong in one post. Edited by .TUX. (25 Mar 2019 8.55pm) Some of you live in an alternate reality I think. I paste a link of the national address where Trump says, and I quote: “In just over two years since the election, we have launched an unprecedented economic boom — a boom that has rarely been seen before. There’s been nothing like it. … An economic miracle is taking place in the United States.” You then claim that I am incorrect in stating that Trump believes the US economy is strong. You then mention the Fed, which has nothing to do with Trump's touting of the US economy. Is this cognitive dissonance or can you not read, pal?

That is probably contravening the golden laws of the HOL forum written on an ancient parchment kept in a safe in a bunker underneath Becky's house. Either way, the impact to the financial industry has been enormous already due to Brexit. Certain decisions have already been made in manufacturing and automotive, where Brexit has been cited as a decisive factor. Nissan, Schaeffler, BMW to name but a few. But hey ho, I am sure its all just pant wetting falsehoods eh.

Frankfurt rental prices are going up. Conversely its a good time to move to London. The horse has largely already bolted. From this article. Here's a roundup of the financial exodus so far (as at March 13th): US bank giants Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup have moved 250 billion euros (3 billion) of balance-sheet assets to Frankfurt because of Brexit. Bank of America is spending 0 million to move staff and operations in anticipation of Brexit, and is trying to persuade London staff to move to Paris. Barclays last week won permission to shift assets worth £166 billion (6 billion) to its Irish division. Barclays is set to become Ireland's biggest bank. France's BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole, and Societe Generale have opted to transfer 500 staff out of London to Paris. UBS has chosen German financial center Frankfurt for its new EU headquarters. Swiss peer Credit Suisse is moving 250 jobs to Germany, Madrid, and Luxembourg among other EU 27 countries as well as 0 million from its market division to Germany. And in December Credit Suisse told its wealthiest clients to hurry and move their money out of the UK before Brexit. Germany's Deutsche Bank is also considering shifting large volumes of assets to Frankfurt as part of its Brexit plan. HSBC, Europe's biggest bank, has shifted ownership of many of its European subsidiaries from its London-based entity to its French unit. Australia's largest bank by assets, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, has set in motion plans to base around 50 staff in Amsterdam, and has applied for a banking licence in the country. Other Australian lenders Macquarie, Westpac, and ANZ are also in talks to move operations to Dublin and continental Europe. Europe's biggest repo trading venue, called BrokerTec, is being moved to Amsterdam from London, meaning a 0 billion a day repo business is leaving the UK. More than 100 UK-based asset managers and funds have applied to the Irish central bank for authorization in Ireland. Read through this again... Most of this is "planning to" and "in talks" and "have applied" etc etc. Have they actually done anything significant? DESPITE Brexit, London is still the No.1 financial hub in Europe – by some margin.

(25 Mar 2019 9.07pm) This is like trying to communicate with ChrisGC or whatever his name is. You make a ridiculous and outlandish claim, I call you out on it, and you reply with something totally unrelated and completely irrelevant. Can I have some of what you are smoking as I have a big presentation I have to do tomorrow where my customer is going to try to nail me to the wall for failing to meet contractual deliverables. You have made me realize If I can just deflect that with some nonsensical double talk about something totally irrelevant, it might help me not to get fired.

Penge Eagle, try reading my post, not the reply by Tux, as he decided to change the content of what I actually posted. Better yet read the article. Of the 12 bullets I posted, 8 represent things that have already happened, whereas 4 represent plans for the future. Edited by Maine Eagle (25 Mar 2019 9.16pm)

But if you read the original one, then no matter, you just replied to his version of my post, not my original one. Anyway as I just said, 8 of the 12 bullets represent activities which have already taken place/decisions already made, only 4 of 12 are pertaining to future theoretical plans. Brexit has had a major impact on the financial sector in London already.

There is an error in in the code of this forum that means means numbers used with the dollar sign go to '0'. Nobody amended your post, it's a bug. Your original post is still there which we both refer to.

All the best xxx Some of the numbers mysteriously changed when you quoted me in your reply. Could be a glitch on the site I suppose. Either way, doesnt matter. The content suggests Brexit has already had a quite large impact on the financial services industry in this country. Sorry if I appear blinkered to you, I just find it amusing when cognitive dissonance rears its head, like me posting a clip of Trump touting the strong US economy, and you telling me I am wrong when I say Trump thinks the US economy is strong All the best to you too, Tux xoxoxo.
