And that's why we should withdraw from the EU, customs union, and have fights about the Irish border? _______________________________________________________ From my perspective yes it is in part but I don’t live in a happy clappy world where strangers are just friends you haven’t met.

I do prefer planes to banana boats and air stewardesses are a little more attractive than rapey people smugglers. Anyway the non-passport thing only seems to work to get into Europe. Doesn't seem to work to get out at all.

OK I can see you're for the idea of strengthening our borders, which are all out of control. Doesn't quite link in with the crime you mentioned. Perhaps the tories could rehire the 20,000 police they sacked as border guards? Edited by Pussay Patrol (25 Mar 2019 4.41pm)

I’d lived in London for nearly 60 years, my wife lived there for 25 years but isn’t from London and was getting increasingly concerned about things that didn’t even register with me. Maybe I was institutionalised.

1. Not greatly. But it will. Give it time. It will. It does others. 2. Nothing substantial or tangible to begin with. It really wouldn’t have bothered me enough to overturn a remain result, put it that way, and that’s not because I’ve suddenly thought the EU is okay, or wonderful like some of remainers who’ve never cared or never will use the so called freedoms EU membership brings. Refer to the descendants answer again. To keep it simple, I want us to be able to, when we can, because we’re able to do so, to be able to choose who, what, when and why. Obviously there’ll be times when we’ll probably have to go with the rest of the world (order). But I would like us to be able to dictate ourselves. Seems to be a lot of intangibles regarding staying in or leaving, begs the question, is it really worth the downsides in your opinion. If some people are to be believed, brexit will cause a large economic downturn, with a no deal brexit expected to be catastrophic for the mid to long term economic future of the UK. I could understand if you would disagree with that, however, assuming both of those are true, is it worth it for you, Rudi? Those things mean many, many people lose jobs and houses etc.

I believe there was a discussion earlier about whether or not the Brexit date had changed to April12th. According to the BBC Mrs May says not yet: "She also confirmed that on Wednesday, the government will seek to change the UK's 29 March departure date through a piece of secondary legislation, which will make 11pm on 12 April the earliest Brexit date. "

After another May performance today we may well have a tories versus parliament constitutional battle. Now, the union could break up too, you and could hardly blame them. The 5.5 millions who want to revoke article 50 are not necessarily remain or leave but people who see chaos and futility for many years ahead. Revoke article 50 and move on.

" David Lidington finished his speech in parliament about 10 mins ago and addressed this. It is a formality, as it is not opposed by government. He stated that a statutory instrument was laid by the government today changing the date of Brexit in the EU Withdrawal Act to take account of the fact that Brexit has been delayed. It contains two alternative new dates, to reflect what was agreed in Brussels last week - depends on if her deal is passed or not this week in MV3.

You are correct, it was those who were on the losing side of the referendum who marched. Dare I say some of that million people voted to leave and have since changed their tune. They are bitter, bitter about their future being affected by people who voted for something which they don’t believe in. Those people would like nothing more than to reverse the referendum result. So you are correct on all counts, Willo! Was it a million, these things are usually wildly exaggerated by the organisers.
