This is the crux and I am very interested to hear your views on this. 1 - how did being in the EU inconvenience you in your daily life? What are we doing this for exactly?

They at least recognise that taking a leap in the dark is a sure fire way to lose. The reason it took so long to beat the Boers is precisely because everyone thought it would be easy so there was little preparation. I think the military learned lessons from that. Sadly the politicians appear not to have learned a similar lesson on being clear on the objective and then preparing thoroughly to follow through to its achievement. As a matter of interest, the shooting range in Park Hill was put in place in response to the dismal experience of the Boer war, along with many others. It was discovered the Brits couldn't shoot and the Boers could. Edited by Mapletree (25 Mar 2019 12.12pm)

Oh dear. The EU cannot extend A50. They have agreed to accept an extension, should the proposal get through parliament. This is subject to unanimous approval and change in law. Thanks to Gina Miller, the UK must leave the EU on the 29th March. Your ignorance is staggering, your attempts to deflect your own misunderstandings shameless and the insults you hurl good indication that you are well and truly beaten. When the debate is over, slander is the tool of the loser. Take care. Edited by ChrisGC (25 Mar 2019 7.19am) Wrong again. The motion to extend article 50 was voted on and passed in parliament on March 14. It was then agreed by the EU. We are not leaving the EU on March 29.

The SAS are told what to do. They then prepare. Their motto is 'Who Dares Wins'. While I have some respect I think we can both agree that you wouldn't have written a motto like that. Edited by Mapletree (25 Mar 2019 12.12pm) Hey this is your example not mine, but if we were going to go over the history of the two Boer wars it would reveal many mistakes and doubtful long term wise decisions for the British. However....the fact remains.....the Boers lost and given the time, dynamics and specifics of the war always were going to lose. The union of South Africa was established as a dominion of the British Empire in 1910.

While I have some respect I think we can both agree that you wouldn't have written a motto like that. Interesting point You know a bit about my history. I was first into Vilnius after the wall came down, first into Krakow and first into Bucharest. In Bucharest the place was covered in holes from where Nicolae Ceausescu was shot. I was in Colombo during the times of the troubles and my hotel room was blown up a week after I left. So yes, you are right, I wouldn't dare.

At the end of the day it comes down to worldviews for the long term direction of the west and how we view the future for Europe. I oppose the destruction of the nation state and oppose splitting the west into competing spheres. In my view, while America is still Anglo Saxon that is where we need to be.....not with European federalists who are economic neo liberals but culturally Marxist.

Mate, you're wasting your time if you expect a sensible answer It'll just be - we won you lost haha or some gobbledegook about how the EU are the enemy then throw in the war for good measure, usually but not always there is a xenophobic tone where immigration is the root of all evil. Willo is not extreme as other contributors so you never know

Yes, I was paid by the EU to do the Central European work. My experience is that the USA is no more friendly to the UK than Europe, in fact much less friendly. Look for example at the way it controls our companies and fines the hell out of them. Talk about being a vassal state. A federation of roughly similar sized or smaller economies to ours or total dependence upon one big, unpredictable, selfish one.

Your post was rather pot calling kettle. If you can't understand that some people don't want to be increasingly ruled by Brussels as it pushes on with its plan for total federalism, that is your problem.
