I think perhaps now....that's more remainers.

Yours is the bygone era now and it's you lot who can't move on.

I prefer cold beer or ideally, no beer, but your attempts at humour do require intoxication to be effective.

Thing is, I don't care how I'm seen by people who still get spots.

Sadly that is obvious

And you also don't care to leave them a future behind

Which is a highly salient point. The future is always a bit hard to predict. It's an awful lot harder if you take a total leap in the dark, with no knowledge of how the future will unfold and absolutely no plan.

More often than not that ends badly.

Tell that to all the soldiers shot by the Boers.

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Surely something you say every day of your working life.

On the other hand, they still have an indigenous manufacturing industry.

This isn't war. The politics is self-serving. The economics is far more crucial for the longer term. But instead we dick around with populism. And we allow our 'leaders', those that talk a good talk, to convince us that losing a huge amount of economic value is a 'good thing'.

This word populism.

Are you suggesting that there should be a threshold of intelligence below which people should not be allowed an opinion?

The whole point of the referendum was that this was a question of sovereignty that could not be decided by bureaucrats alone. It is only because the bean counters did not get the result they wanted that they now talk of populism.

Really? There is knowledge to be gained from past history - the future is mere hope and speculation.

Yes, but the lesson is not that we need to fear the Hun, they have won the peace, and that if we stay in the EU one more minute all our children will be speaking German.

It is exactly because I do wish for a better future for my descendants that I voted to leave.

'Who Dares Wins ' is the motto of the SAS.....not an organization who fail to prepare.

As for the Boers.....they lost.
