Grenfell is story no 3 on the BBC news site. Long gone are real investigative journalists, like Roger Cook (at grass roots level). Had a lot of time and respect for Laura Kuenssberg at the BBC, but seems she was 'promoted out of the way' by people higher up. No one will be prosecuted for Grenfell. Any formal investigation will fail to find anyone, and no (BBC) journalists will bother taking this up, because if they find a story, then their career will be terminated.

John Pilger is still doing good work and there are other good journalists on the left like Glen Greenwald that are trying to hold the powerful to account but very few in the mainstream.

What a titan Roger Cook was. Principled rather than partisan in either direction, and unafraid where others feared to tread. I always liked the description of him as being a cross between "Meatloaf and the Equaliser" .

They will be IF they are guilty.

They will be IF they are guilty. What cannot happen is slinging people in jail to appease the public and families. I think you're partly right, in that anyone who could end up in jail due to this is likely not key to what panned out. And those who did actually make the decisions that led to this can likely claim to be far enough removed from it all that they won't ever be held to account anyway. Multiple crap decisions to cut corners and save money, that put people at significant risk in the process.

Grenfell. Ultimately someone/committee gave the go-ahead for the cladding in the knowledge it didn't meet standard. Those involved have had plenty of time to muddy the waters and construct a suitably vague chain of events. BBC journalism is just too much part of the establishment to be any good at investigating. BBC training on Trans issues not impartial. When is the BBC going to learn if you invite activists to give your staff training it's hardly likely to be impartial. You wouldn't ask the SNP to state the case for the Union or independence? It does beg the question, the BBC has hundreds of researchers on the payroll as they saying they are incapable of researching this issue and providing training material that is impartial? Why do they need Stonewall and now this new body? How much are they spending on external training? Isn't this an sneaky way of providing funding for your alphabet soup mates? Anyone else noticed on BBC, the advert for next week's Wimbledon - all women, praising their achievements, a poster showing 'we fought for equal pay' and the final punchline "We know our place" Hopefully Cucking Funt will be along soon to mention kitchens

Never heard it called 'games' before. Something tells me you'll be keeping an eye on the tennis, or the ball.
