The fact that we have yet to address the glaringly obvious weakness in our team over the past 3 seasons (or taken a chance on someone who went onto prove themselves elsewhere) is the most frustrating element of every window for us!
We all make the same observations about this player or that player “linked with us” but in the end nothing materialises. So frustrating when other clubs seem to quietly go about their transfer dealings without the issues that seem to prevent us from doing so.

The season is about to start and here we are STILL without a recognised goal scorer. Can we really afford to hobble along until the October deadline closes? What about the points we will have dropped in the meantime? It’s never been easy being a Palace fan (in a strange way that’s part of the fun) but this striker situation and our inability to remedy it is by far the most frustrating aspect that I can remember. Sort it out ffs!

Ferguson and Eze, plus Gallagher (cross fingers) are three excellent additions which will make a big difference, in my opinion. OK two have been injured, but are in training and not far from joining the match squad. Won't help us in the first couple of matches, but after that I believe we will begin to see a difference

I’m crossing fingers we don’t get Gallagher. That would pave the way for Bats back in. It’s one or the other and I know which one I’d prefer

Bats in might also signal a greater probability of holding onto Wilf. If we buy a striker I’m thinking it’s likely funded by Wilf moving on.

Couldn’t disagree more. Not one of them is a specialist striker. Time and time again we try to make do.

Totally agree. We are in desperate need of a striker.

I’m not complaining about the signings we’ve made - they without question improve us. But creating chances isn’t our problem - it’s converting them! Okay we can’t afford to spend big on the finished article but to not even have brought in someone on loan - before Southampton is garbage imo.

We're we interested in him, probably not.

Well he is 29 but ticks all the gpal-scoring boxes.

Villa bid more than Newcastle apparently, but have withdrawn their 21 million bid.

We really should have bought Murray. He would have been ideal for us. Cheap, still got it and gives 100%

How long does that last though? Maybe still got it, maybe, but thereis no profit from fielding Murray. Whereas by fielding a 20-24 year old center forward there is everythung to gain financially.

And Murray will last 1 more year. What then? Disrupt the first 11 again? Accustom the other players to someone else?

We should never have let Glen Murray go, which I believe was a Alan Pardew's decision? Seems crazy to go for him now as it would blow a hole right through our signing young players policy.

I don't recall the club telling anyone, who they are trying to sign. You have been told by flakey click bait sites and people guessing from so called ITK information.

Yes. Hence that I referenced ITK below that comment and suggested that they are being fed by the club.
I don’t recall suggesting that the club have said anything?

6 days until the season begins and it all feels as though it's gone a bit quiet. Eze and Ferguson should be top signings but we desperately need a striker and, ideally, another winger (assuming we have pretty much secured the lad from Chelsea to strengthen the midfield).

Let's hope we can pull our fingers out this week and get one or two more in rather than leaving it until October when we've already played five games.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Absolutely. It doesn't come naturally, but in Dougie we+trust!
