A lot of us have said Zaha only signed big last year so to command a bigger transfer fee this summer.

Now, let's say we sell AWB too, that's easily 100 mil in the bank. If the scouts and dougie are doing their homework, replacements will be lined up already and hopefully no more than 20 a pop, leaving 60 mil to buy a striker or two with change left over. This leaves all the other monies coming in to go to where they need to go.

Question is, is roy the right bloke to handle this change then to make way next year? i think so.

By the time Man U take their share of any transfer fee and we pay off the £35m we owe on those figures released last week it won’t leave a lot if Wilf does secure a transfer to a big club.

Interesting how all our ambitions change.
Wilf apparently now only wants top challenges. Champions league, international football etc
Somewhat ironic. If he had thought like this two years ago he might have already played in a World Cup semi final maybe even won a World Cup with England.
In my view Ivory Coast is less likely to bring the riches of success as England.
Just hope wherever he goes he is ready to be a squad player.
Not convinced his latest thinking will suit him.
Surely player exchange is the way as £60/70m can be squandered so easily by the wrong people.
PSG?

The right time for him to move on, and the right time for Palace to evolve past Zaha and the fast counter method.

We all knew this was coming.

Can't see any top 6 wanting him.

Can’t see him playing in the Champions league if he stays in England, would do well to make any of the top 4s bench in these games. Would have a good seat to watch though and play the league cup games. Unfortunately at Palace he could play badly for a 2 seasons and still be the first name on the team sheet. At any of the top 4 if he has 2 bad games in a row he would be out. Unplayable when on form , anonymous when he’s not, that’s not enough for the top teams , they need an 8/10 at least every game.
Attitude suspect aswell, when he doesn’t get a foul and sulks, top players appeal like he does, then are straight back on it.
Shame united will take a chunk of the money. Probably time for him to go if we can get sensible money, but have no faith in us spending the money wisely, plus we will be striped up on replacements , as the other clubs will know that we are holding a few quid.

Totally agree. He’s too inconsistent and too sensitive. I love Wilf but get the feeling his ego is taking over a little. He won’t get the adulation at a top club that he gets with us and I think he needs that. If he wants to go take the money and I hope his move works out for him better than Yala’s

Don’t blame him, when our ambitions seem to be simply to avoid relegation and our negative tactical set up at home.

Will be a loss as he is a game changer but we must spend the money wisely.

He's not going anywhere, classic Le Tissier syndrome.

He's loved, he's very well paid and he's in line for a statue.

If he was going anywhere it would've been last summer. He runs that team now, he can 4th gear his career to a close and still be the greatest player we've ever had.

Anyway, who's he going to sign for?
I love the bloke, but is his all round game good enough for a top 6 team? I don't see it.

I think the article came out at at perfect time and probably with the clubs blessing. We all love Wilf, but A) we can’t stand in his way and B) his stock will only go down from here. Let’s command a big fee and get the deal done early. That gives us time to buy a couple of emerging talents.

If he runs the team he'd tell Grandad to stop knobbing about & play him where most affective

I trust he's dropped for the next match at least in any case. He's contracted to Palace to the tune of nearly £7m a year and he's going on record in national newspapers touting his services to our rivals? I don't think he's got any real ambition to leave anyway, but genuine or just another grab for a pay rise it's
unprofessional and disrespectful. He's got management and agents to do this for him at more appropriate times and certainly more low key. He could then activate the procedures for requesting a transfer respectfully and directly with the club which has been so good for him if he's serious.

This is a disappointing course of action and demonstrates an attitude problem.
