It seems to me the best chance for the Tories is get rid of Boris ASAP, elect and immediately call a election, before anyone can see if the new leader is any good or not,
i ask from being a non-UK Resident, would a promise of a referendum on re-joining the EU be a vote winner or loser, as the last poll said 62% would vote to rejoin.

I'm someone who is pretty anti Johnson due to a sense of betrayal from the politician we had before he took office to the creature we actually got once he took the crown.

However, I'll say this about his downfall.

We are meant to be a democracy....I largely regard that as mainly a myth, as your choices are controlled.....but let's keep up appearances and believe it for a moment.

So being a democracy the majority of the population are ultimately who decide on who leads them. However who were the people who decided that Boris had to go?

It was the media and the self worshiping political class who decided. Not voters, which is what it always should be if the mythical idea of a democracy is anything like a reality.

Did we get a referendum over anti EU opinion polls during the forty years the country was in the EU?

There were many many calls for a referendum and they were all ignored.

No we didn't....the only reason we got a referendum was because Cameron was concerned about Ukip eating into his voting base.

Now the boot is on the other foot, suddenly there's a concern about representing the outcomes of opinion polls. Let the pro EU crowd be treated just as well as they treated the anti EU crowd before the country was allowed to decide....something they hated.

Forgive my cynicism.

Pretty much everyone except for Ireland. We have the opposite - places and times where there are no taxis at all, or rip off prices where they want cash - off the meter.
