Each to their own,but I think calling the HF our 2nd biggest asset is a bit wild.
In reality they're only a side show, and have little effect on performances on the pitch.

To be fair I think that is a reasonable point of view given that our home form is not that good and hasn't been for a while.

I agree they are a side show and don't think they have a big influence on the team, as per our home record.

However, they are a huge asset in terms of our clubs 'passionate fans' reputation, Selhurst Park fear factor, our marketing, our global appeal. I've spoken to people all over the world who know Palace due to our famous atmosphere.

The match day experience has dramatically declined and it will put off casual fans from attending. We'll see more empty seats.

Unless of course we win

This thread would’ve had a fraction of the posts if we’d won our first two home games because no-one would’ve given a monkeys about the atmosphere with 3 points each game on the board, plus playing well and winning would’ve improved the atmosphere anyway.

Really, our atmosphere is world famous ?
I can't say my matchday experience has dramatically declined either.

I'm in upper Holmesdale and not trying to be controversial but it still sounds loud to me.

Are people seriously saying their match day experience is badly affected and it's like a library? I can't see it. Maybe we don't make us much noise these days if we're playing poorly and losing but that's it really.

I'm not a member of the HF. However, it's clear they're brilliant for the atmosphere.

People who say otherwise are clueless and have an inferiority complex. This is a fact.
