Based on gut instinct I think Peligrino will get the job based on. A he knows and has worked with Sammy Lee. Sounds a lot better than Dyche or Woy.

Sounds a lot better than Dyche or Woy. I'm bracing myself for a collective "D'oh, YT!", but I only just discovered that Hodgson was a CPFC youth player, and then briefly a senior, but made no first team appearances. How did I not know that in 45 years of allegiance? No relevance at all to the thread, I grant you!

The job he did at Alaves is nothing short of remarkable.

There's too much obsession with style of play and managerial stability. We want a s*** hot manager who's so brilliant that Barcelona want him next year. It would mean we are knocking on the door of the top 4 and, even if we can't maintain that when said s***-hot manager quits, we are an altogether better proposition when that moment comes. Parish is ultimately looking for average and that makes no sense.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I'm all for a solid defence but there's got to be a decent blend of defence and attack. I'd say anything similar to BS is what we crave. Defensive discipline which leads to solid and frightening attacks. Maybe that's not 90% defensive but IMO that's what we need.

I've a feeling we might go with this South American. Think it could be a good appointment on multiple fronts. Sounds like a good manager But then I did think we had Silva in the bag and lost on that. Good on those to have bet at anywhere near 25/1.

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet ......SportFootballPremier League Dyche has been seen as an option for the south Londoners since Sam Allardyce first walked away as manager Ed Malyon @eaamalyon Sean Dyche wants to take over at Crystal Palace next season, but there is no guarantee that he will be the Eagles' first choice to replace Sam Allardyce. The Eagles slowed down and reset their recruitment process after missing out on top target Marco Silva, believing the other available candidates to all be a tier below the Portuguese. But Dyche has been in the conversation since day one and has shown a keenness to leave Turf Moor and move south again, having previously impressed at Watford. Palace chairman Steve Parish, with input from his American co-owners, has crunched the numbers on a wide range of candidates. Mauricio Pellegrino is keen to work in England and represents an intriguing candidate after his work with Alavés this season, but he left the club to resolve some personal issues in his native Argentina and the job may come too soon for the former Liverpool defender. Garry Monk and Roy Hodgson are not understood to be high-priority candidates, while Roger Schmidt was on an early longlist but has not received further contact. Dyche is on holiday currently and is understood to have a release clause of £1m.
