We all have our own opinions just as you do but maybe we all put it into different words.

IF you have read all threads on our striker situation you will find and notice that I HAVE said that our "Super" striker is a lazy useless player and stands around until the ball gets to his head when he should be chasing lost causes and challenging for the ball much more than he does. As for Wayne he is in the Wales team due to the fact there is no-one else to choose from. The point being made is that he cannot stop the ball going into the net and IF he did then we would get at least a point or two. You have to be honest and say he is past his sell by date and putting our other keeper I for a couple of games can do no harm whatsoever and it might even prove that we CAN keep a clean sheet and the team just might feel safer with a new pair of hands as a stopper? Wayne might be a great bloke as a person but is scared of his own shadow which is the reason he is so flappable and just stands there. Perhaps Roy might see his faults and get him to do better in training or even put him on the bench for a while and make him fight for his place. It has worked before and might just work again. we shall see.

So your plan is to replace our keeper who is currently playing for Wales and is in his early 30s with a player who is at least 2 years past his best and should have retired?

If we could get in a better keeper who could make some match-winning saves that might earn us an extra point or two then I'd be happy to see WH replaced - just as most (if not all) our players could be replaced by better players in their positions. The point is that we didn't upgrade that position in the summer and cannot now do so until January, when again there will probably be more pressing needs (such as a striker or 3). In the meantime I see no point in bringing in Speroni as when I last saw him (pre-season at Fulham last year) he was awful.

there are loads of players, but by all accounts your "outing" a player who seems to have a great attitude and trys his hardest and in the grand scheme of things cost us f*** all & earns a small basic wage...behave yourself fella, and thats the reason, despite your claiming 35 years of palace support i assume you just drive up the a23 for the last few years, and wont make the journey next season if we are relegated and get a season ticket at the amex.
