The plus side this season, is I don't think Hennessey has been too bad, granted I think he could have done better for the third goal against City, but that's a moot point when your taking a five goal beating. Against Liverpool, Swansea and Burnley back passes and f**k up defending put him into impossible situations. Three at the back against Huddersfield utterly failed to provide cover at the back, and left the keeper too exposed. I don't rate him highly and he's a bit prone to fluffing his lines, however in our current squad that shouldn't single him out.

Well said. Until we can upgrade just play Jules. Originally posted by bifffabazz
WAY too much bitterness among our fans here. Hennessey clearly divides opinion. That 'healthy debate' is now lost after 150 pages surely means just one thing... We are never all going to agree, so why keep arguing?! Most think Hennessey needs replacing. Debate over?

So your plan is to replace our keeper who is currently playing for Wales and is in his early 30s with a player who is at least 2 years past his best and should have retired? If we could get in a better keeper who could make some match-winning saves that might earn us an extra point or two then I'd be happy to see WH replaced - just as most (if not all) our players could be replaced by better players in their positions. The point is that we didn't upgrade that position in the summer and cannot now do so until January, when again there will probably be more pressing needs (such as a striker or 3). In the meantime I see no point in bringing in Speroni as when I last saw him (pre-season at Fulham last year) he was awful.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

We're in the best Edited by Brentmiester_General (04 Oct 2017 10.28am) You obviously have forgotten Michele Padovano, who nearly single headedly forced us into liquidation. He signed on huge wages, spent nearly all his time in the treatment room, then when we were in financial trouble he refused a deal to move or take a reduced wage, when others did. He spent a few years after in a Italian jail for drugs smuggling.
