I remember 45 years ago there was a rumour that George Best was going to be in the Manchester United team coming to Selhurst and how disappointed I was when he wasn't in the squad

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Ban' by Midlands Eagle Since his sending off he has been a revelation he was again fouled constantly today with a very bad tackle on him near the end of the game just for a second I thought he would explode. Luka got in quick and Wilf calmed almost instantly his goal today was of a very high class good to see

Also against United when McTominay was strangling him I thought he'd throw a punch or something. Really got his act together.

Watched the Kane incidents against Chelsea. Whether it's a sending off or not I couldn't care less but you can't help but feel if that had been Wilf involved in those two incidents the media treatment would have been very, very different. People could argue that it would be due to his 'reputation' as fiery/petulent however when it is largely the media who help create this image it doesn't quite seem right.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Nothing but stories about Wilf & AWB to Man U, many making it seem a virtual 'done deal'. Would Wilf want to go back there again after the last charade ? If true, 100m for the pair would hopefully go a long way & not into US pockets

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I love Wilf and how good he is for us but when I watch him against the better defenders I realise that his game lacks an awful lot. This is the reason I can not see anyone of the top 6 making a move for him. He is turning every game into a perosnal battle with the full backs, they get into his head so easily it's laughable which in turn is killing him as a player. Unless he sorts this out he will never realise his full potential.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha wants out' by Midlands Eagle Interesting timing as he's blocked himself from social media for 24 hours. Thanks for the memories, but he deserves a chance at a higher level.
"Brighton are talking about how they're coming for us. And it's like, we've been waiting in the Premier League for you for ages." Wilfried Zaha, 2017. |
