As far as I am concerned, Palace under CPFC2010 is all about iterations. I am not going to get all dewy-eyed or rose tinted, but surely we can all see that things are going in the right direction?

Gayle wasn't going to fire us into the top half of the table - I loved the bloke, but he lacked the quality in front of goal. Berahino has the quality infront of goal, but seems a bit highly strung and Benteke is proven to improve a team that is not all that great (i.e. Villa).

Either would be brilliant, but if we don't get them, then we are hardly going to go too far into the season with two strikers.

I kinda hope we string Liverpool along that we're still interested right up to deadline day and then sign someone else and tell them to f**k off.

I don't want to mention relegation, however I feel this has gone on too long not just in this window but last couple of years, where we copped out on a striker with bambi on ice. In Jan, we knew we need a striker and brought an half asked and not match fit adebayor.

I hope you are joking Danny. If Wickham plays for the next 10 seasons and add the goals together he would struggle to score as many goals as Kane last year.
Hopefully he will be half decent, but he hasn't got pace and I'd say for is height is ok in the air.
Would be good enough as a 3rd choice striker.

Just remember he's still only 23. Give him a few more years to hit a prime striker's age, he should improve.

I am not suggesting he should be our 1st choice striker. But he has shown glimpses to be a second choice. Don't be so shorted sighted like you were probably in Murray's first season.
