Wow. Very surprised if this comes off. Assumed he had Everton written all over him. Still think it's a gamble. We're a very different club to Wolves at the moment. That being said, he's a bigger draw to players than most of our recent managers and, with his Jorge Mendes connection, I can see the possible upsides too. Could be exciting anyway, though I'm not counting my chickens until I see the official account Tweet it. Can see it now; SP: Welcome to the Club Nuno, very excited that you have decided to sign. NES: Looking forward to working with you. We haven't got much time before next season, we need to sort the squad out. Can I see which players you have identified? SP: I'd assumed you and Mr Mendes could help out on that one, and get some quality in? NES: Mendes? he still works for Wolves, not sure he'll be much help..... SP: WHA! FREEEEEEEEDMAAAAN!

I'm going to repeat something I said earlier about Nuno, because there are 150 pages and I doubt anyone (apart from sad old me) has read every post. Nuno would be a very exciting prospect. A lot of people worry about the funds we need to keep him and Mendes happy. But a few things to consider which I can see as being realistic. l. Everton. The owner likes big name managers. Anchelotti proved this and he has been to only recent successful manager at Everton. Martinez and Silva failed. Maybe he sees Nuno in their mold rather than in the Sarri, Conte, Mourinho, Anchelotti bracket. Whatss a big name for us may not be a big name for the Everton owner. 2. Maybe Nuno wants to prove himself as a coach. Every time he and Wolves are mentioned it comes with the caveat `well its due to the money they have spent and the link with Mendes`. We've all said it or thought it, maybe, just maybe Nuno wants to prove its due to him as a coach and so wants a new project/platform to prove that. 3. The Mendes thing. `He's a top agent with top players on his books we can't afford to keep him and them happy`. Mendes will not only have top players on his books but also lots that he and his scouting team think have potential. May be cheap at the moment and not top players but could be. Could Palace provide the platform for those players to get regular Premier League football. That is the most watched league in the world and would be a real shop window for those players and subsequently Mendes. Yes makes us a bit of a middleman but we get the players and make a profit, which we can reinvest in players, along the way. 4. People have bemoaned our scouting. English players are very expensive and many on here talk about the bargains being those from abroad (Matteo?) Just think of the contacts and scouting Mendes has...I salivate at the thought! Just think of the network he has that we can tap into. I can really see the above as exciting prospects and ticks so many boxes for us. Would be a real coup and great potential for a Palace rebirth! Obviously there will need to be a certain amount of money involved, but it's very possible that the entire Palace project will attract the right sort of manager, not just the money involved. We know how it ends up when money-orientated managers don't have any money to spend - they leave! Hopefully we can tap into the spirit of the Promotion-winning team and get a manager and players joining us for the project rather than the wages! Am I alone in thinking that there are still players and managers around who can buy into something like this? Maybe just maybe Harris and Blitzer will Chuck a few hundred mil in if Nuno is selected.

I always find that a daft comparison as you should be comparing Wolverhampton with SE25 and not the Surrey stockbroker belt. There are some beautiful places within a half hour drive of Wolverhampton and I'd guess that most managers would live in Shropshire Years ago I met Ricardo Fuller on his return from International duty, at the time he was playing for Stoke. He was living in Cheshire Edited by Spiderman (08 Jun 2021 2.59pm)

Having a quick nose at a Wolves' forum there were a few posters suggesting Nuno has a large entourage who he would want with him, which if true I wonder how that fits into Parish's aim of being a proper community club. As much as I'd love Nuno, I hope Parish doesn't become distracted by the lustre of his beard and forget that we don't have £100m to spend on Portugal's finest young players. Nevertheless, my one demand would be that if he does join that we can buy those little Portuguese custard tarts at half time. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if our fitness/rehab department had a bit of a shake up

I was recently talking to a friend of mine who informed me Pastéis de nata were created before the 18th century by Catholic monks at the Hieronymites Monastery in the civil parish of Saint Mary of Bethlehem, in Lisbon. But let's not turn this into yet another Filo thread.

Im surprised that Arsenal havent gone for Nuno. They could accomodate his entourage and Mendes far easier than us and being London as well could entice Mrs Nuno to join him which i have a feeling could be the real reason he left Wolves being seperated from his family isnt a good working environment
