Wilf and Schlupp have done pretty well as 'false no nines' or whatever the phrase is throughout preseason. And fairly early on if not next week we'll have Eze and Gallagher in the squad ....but no strikers, and no return date fixed either

Problem is playing Southampton, we all know Wilf let’s JWP get inside his small brain, result red card, minus one striker.

Gallagher is a done deal & will be announced in due course.

Gallagher completed a medical with Crystal Palace last weekend, but he is yet to complete all the formalities of his move to Selhurst Park.

It has been claimed Chelsea are waiting for him to sign a new deal before he can complete the loan move to Crystal Palace.

His current deal runs until 2022 and Chelsea want it to be extended.

Chelsea want to secure their investment in Gallagher before he is allowed to join Crystal Palace on loan this summer

It remains to be seen when Gallagher might put pen to paper.

I think our main business is done. Ill hazard a guess our striker will be Wellbeck the winger Bright Samuel and defender Bella Kotchop

I think you're probably right. But it could be that there's another addition - Alfie Mathews? Not gonna help our first team squad, for a while, even if he does turn up at Sainsbury's

Heard from a source up here Max Meyer is coming on loan to Rangers. Anyone know anything about this? A player coming in our direction?

Weird that you say this, probably bearing in mind we are both posting in the early hours of the morning!! But in all seriousness my Uncle and cousin are well connected up at Rangers and my cousin rang me about 9pm last night to say he'd heard the same up there about Meyer but in the guise of a loan from us until January but Rangers are only willing to pay 50% of his wages...

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Agreed here in regards to a forward can’t imagine us spending big. I would love Edouard but won’t happen, same with Bats. If Welbeck was to remain injury free which is a big if then it could work out.

Would prefer Bright Osayi-Samuel over Ibe

The only thing that can be said in Ibe's favour is that he has PL experience? However, he didn't seem to be very effective for Bournmouth, and apparently had a lot of personal issues which he may or may not have sorted out. Osayi-Samuel is younger, with great potential but not PL ready. That's why losing out on Fraser is such a pity. A pity also that Watkins looks like he's heading elsewhere. However, of the two options we are apparently considering, it's Osayi-Samuel every time.
