Benteke is a player who seems to be rated more highly in his absence!
In reality he has made very little contribution in 15 months and many have wanted him out of the team/replaced.
However, because of the paucity of other options he still looks the best bet to be our main striker.
I’m not sure where we go from here.
You hope that Sorloth or Ayew(even Wickham) will seize the opportunity but it feels like the triumph of hope over experience.

Get well soon, Christian,we desperately need you back fit and well, with confidence fully restored to help get us out of a hole we have dug for ourselves: acute lack of goals from a feeble, failing " strike force".

Not good.

Our chairman might not spend enough to keep us up this season because such spending is 'unsustainable'.
Let's see how sustainable being in the Championship is with a 12k crowd, a brand new half empty stand and no Wilf or Wan Bissaka or Sakho or Townsend....

I mentioned this a while ago on the Benteke thread.
This kind of jiggly problem could well be what has been affecting him since he did his knee about a year ago. Let’s hope he comes back firing on all four

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I think the SP definition of sustainable is not being in administration

On good authority from somebody in the match day support team that Benteke likely needs an op and will be out until new year if so. Also Wickham back in training but really struggling (top heavy) just keeps breaking down despite really trying hard to get back opposed to popular opinion he's lazy. Think it's gona have to be Sorloth until Jan for me Ayew just not strong enough to play off. No surprise also but apparently Roy seriously after RLC and Wellbeck in Jan window. If Sorloth scored were on the pitch....

Spot on. Wellbeck would be a maserstroke

You think that is likely do you?

We are more likely to go there if we go down.

Benteke hopefully will be back as much needed reinforcements for the very busy games scheduled over the festive season as we begin our usual relegation fight to stay in the top tier.
God knows what position we will be in the league table at that point with defeats widely predicted in the next five fixtures.

I don't think it's likely and I agree relegation would not help but there seems to be a steadfast reluctance to invest, we always seem to be looking in the bargain basement and anything we get at full price always seems to break quickly
