The football gods are a fickle lot, but I'm glad they smiled on Palace today. Although we have lost 23 points from winning positions (while Liverpool have earned 27) sometimes the crossbar, defenders' knees, keepers' elbows, and strikers' nerves conspire to ensure an outlier of a result.

Still, if effort is the measure of merit, surely Palace deserved today's victory, with every player putting in a first-class shift. Indeed, this may have been the most improbable aspect of it all. How rare it is to see ninety-seven minutes of near-flawless focus and indomitable heart.

Gerrard's last ever match for Liverpool.

I remember standing in the Arthur Wait having watched Jedinak's free kick to win 3-1, singing "We fu€&ed your title up"

His last game at anfield, tho stoke beat them 6-0 in his last game for Liverpool.

I thought that match was at Anfield not Selhurst???

In any case, if there is ever a game I would want to win it's away at Anfield. Great stuff ...

My daughter's first experience of a Palace giant killing. What a joy to share it with her. At full-time we jumped in the car and drove around our little island in our Palace tops celebrating like we'd won the Champion's League!

First half we were the better team. Second half we were the team with more heart. I thought I was going to be sick in that final 10 minutes but the Gods were on our side. What a day to be alive, drinking larget goblets of salty scouse tears! All hail the concurring heroes!

Love it TL!

I couldn’t bear it. Had a reasonable excuse to not watch the game live today and hid from my phone after seeing 0-1.

I absolutely hate the phrase ‘bed wetting’, and I was very far from hysterical despair, but it plays on your mind doesn’t it? Safety not guaranteed by any means but equally I knew it possible for us to get something today however couldn’t bring myself to believe we’d even get a point, I was almost resigned.

I haven’t worn a Palace top for a while (I still buy them just not a fan of wearing them about). I’ve got one on for the remainder of the day. It’s the worst heartache and the greatest joy. Today it’s the latter.

COYP!!!!!!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I think there’s a matches/goals muddle up there

Don't know bout anyone else, but, I thought Wharton was MOM, controlled the midfield & never once, was flustered. I think a very fantastic purchase & part of the future for us. Who will be his partner there next season?

I voted for Lerma - as he was a stand in centre back but frankly did better than we usually do. I think he has played there on the odd occasion, but if I were the manager I might be tempted to keep him there. I know this was one match but he looked better than Richards. Reminded me very much of a certain Marc Guehi - on a good day.

A fantastic result, could only watch the first half, but was very impressed with what I saw. Also over the moon that we have probably denied the scummy scousers the title.

Wharton, Mitchell, Lerma, Henderson, Andersen and all Fantastic, and best of all Glasner, a back 3 of Clyne, Andersen and Lerma, remarkable.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

What an incredible performance. First half we absolutely outplayed them and second half our defending was perfect. Anderson and Henderson were both absolutely mighty.

I'm still in a borderline state of shock that about three of their chances didn't go in and that Mateta somehow didn't end up with a brace. If he'd converted just one of those chances it would have been a lot less horrible at the end!

Most of all I'm delighted for Glasner who has really improved us and deserved a good result after a few dodgy ones. It's very sad to think we're probably going to lose some of these guys in the summer, because a full season with Eze, Olise, Doucoure, Lerma, Wharton, Munoz, Guehi and Anderson in the team plus some further additions, I think we'd be top half and pushing for Europe.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I’m actually very confident that we will keep them all for a season. I just have a feeling it was part of the package for OG to come to palace.
