There will inevitably be departures in the summer, and it's highly likely that they'll be needed to fund any incomings.

My only hope is that Bayern appoint a manager soon as with each one that turns them down I feel Glasner is going to start getting more mentions... especially if they were considering Ten Hag - last nights game would have clearly highlighted who is the better manager. It's clear the impact he and his coaches have had on the team, and whichever players were to leave in the summer I'd still feel confident with him at the reigns.

I'm not sure Ten Hag is the inferior coach. I know, but hear me out.

Like everyone who goes to Man Utd they are brilliant before they arrive. That club corrupts everything it touches.

Thus, take the playing staff. Moneyballs research proves one thing. Bring in dozens of players and chop and change the team around as much as you like and spend as much as you like. They and Chelsea prove this is no panacea. Continuity and a settled team with the odd tweak is what is required. Man Utd have still not learned this. Their owners plan to flog the whole team and start from scratch!

Check the players before they arrived. All of them were the very best and were able to demand and get the eye watering sums they are now paid. All of them could walk into our team. Yet observe them collectively. A shambles.

And then consider the quality of managers they have had pass through their revolving door since Ferguson. All the best in the business and all of them all but destroyed by whatever poisonous miasma inflicts that club.

I would not be surprised if Ten Hag went to Bayern and took them back to the top of the table and a European prize.

.

Another thought is that the Dutch league is so poor these days, that like Scotland, winning the league if you are one of the big clubs is not much of an achievement?

Even though football is often subject to death by stats those quoted are interesting and show how much difference OG's methods are making.

The club have just announced that Ward, Schlupp and Hughes have all renewed contracts with the club. Personally I’m not surprised and I think they can all play a part in the squad next season. Surely our new centre back, Clyne, will soon also be announced?!

And now that Tomkins and Riedewald will be leaving.

Hughes turning into prime Roy Keane and Schlupp scoring C.Ronaldo-esque goals have probably helped. I'm guessing Ward is still being kept on sentiment (probably a bit harsh, OG may see him as useful for his set up).

I'd be very shocked if Tomkins were renewed but equally if Clyne is not, he's been fantastic in the new formation too. Riedewald a bit of an odd one, I'd speculate that Glasner will find a use for him but not miss him nor make a case against it if he goes.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Clyne is on a very high wage and I think unless he lowers his demands will go. This would enable an offer to Guehi on a new contract or pay wages of 2 new additions from championship or non elite European clubs

I believe Clyne took a big cut last year:

Not sure if the link will work but it says he is now on £30k.

I am ready to stand corrected here but I think Clyne was on quite a high wage when he first arrived because he came in on a free (no transfer fee) but I thought his contract was renegotiated couple years back to put it on a more appropriate level.

Yes, if the information in the link is accurate, you are correct, Dubai.
