A bit like Toney at Brentford I think it would take some wild OTT offer to prise Olise away this month. Can't see him going to Man U with AWB coming in part-exchange. Yes we need full backs but a player valued at £50m by Man U as makeweight? Terrible value for money for a club like ours. I can see Olise going in the summer to a CL club who'd normally be in the running for winning it, he is that good. The fact he turned down Chelsea suggests he wants to go to a club in the running for the big trophies rather than a work in progress club like Chelsea or Man U who will pay big bucks.

We WILL get 'big bucks' as you put it in this window. His release clause according to several click-bait sites, does not come into force until July 1st. AWB cost Manure £50m, so that's how they value him for us, so they don't have to fork our shed loads on a player who will dissappear into their ether. I, personally believe Olise will be here next season. He's got a shrewd head on his shoulders.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Im sure Olise will be receiving maximum specialist attention and rehabilitation for his injury. But based on the original tear and immediate surgery, depending on the severity of the injury the normal full rehabilitation is 3-6 months for an athlete. This obviously depends on many factors (severity of tear, success of surgery, natural healing abilities etc etc). To return too quick and suffer another tear or strain to the same hamstring is not good news obviously. I doubt anyone will put a time frame on it, but just the fact it has re occurred in the same hamstring, I am guessing they are measuring full recovery in months not weeks. As far as I am aware it is the same hamstring but in a different place so not as severe as last injury.

Here we go again, sell a major asset and we will not benefit as most of the money will fill the pockets of Parish etc. A Palace fan for 65 years (and I wonder why?) we continue to bow down to the big 6 type clubs and let them walk all over lesser teams when a superstar comes along. I feel so depressed that with having a really effective Academy, we are just breeding players who wont remain at Palace, due to the the greed that is the Premier League. Weve only just started to enjoy Michael's talent, and struggling to stay in the PL this season, due to little backup as such.

Pure media speculation given that the transfer window is open and Olise’s garnered some headlines recently. Where does the money go ? Well the last set of accounts showed Palace running at a loss of around £25m . Your suggestion that Parish benefits from selling players is totally ludicrous as well as being without foundation. The top clubs do have things their way, that’s largely true. But you might want to recall that last summer Parish repelled a bid from Chelsea for Olise and indeed got him to sign a new contract. I suspect you have chosen to ignore that. If you had even a basic understanding of how football works you would understand that if the Academy is truly successful then it is a means of generating income . If we can develop an Eze or Olise ourselves and sell them on for significant fees that go towards the bottom line then Palace become more financially sustainable. As for the “ new stadium “ which is actually a new stand, it’s clearly been a more difficult job than anticipated. Building in a residential area presents many challenges. The Premier League isn’t difficult to fall out of love with. It’s far from a level playing field financially. In the circumstances Palace have done well to stay in it for as long as they have .

Players salaries, running costs, ground maintenance, policing bill, utilities, loan repayments, etc

You just find it impossible to post without slagging off a poster personally whether it’s a gentle dig or a full out attack. It’s little wonder posters call you out. For someone who had a go at me for being a know it all, you do a fantastic job of it yourself. You could have written that post very differently but you chose not to. Too many posters like that on here.
