Equally, perhaps those who experience failure and are discontented will find reason to attack it. Just a thought. Do you remember that kid at primary school who would rally the other kids, say follow me and scamper off. Sadly, nobody did and they ended up running 20 yards before they realised nobody was behind them. For me that is Braverman. The Tories are being forced into yet another morph provoked by the risk of electoral annihilation. I guess this will raise anger on here, but it must shift to liberal centrist right with the B-word never uttered. And this requires lancing populist, self-serving boils like Braverman.

It doesn't matter, the end result is the same. The Tories will split if they remain social liberals or they will hopefully split if they don't. Peter Hitchens was right.....continuing to vote for a party that lies to its base and isn't what it calls itself is untenable. If the far left within Labour had any balls they would do the same and break away from Labour....but once a cuck, always a cuck I suppose. The country is majority neo and social liberal....it's been going pretty badly for a long time like that. Let the fools continue believing in those pipe dreams until they are forced to wake up. The trouble is if you don’t have a right of centre faction within a ruling party (or left wing for that matter), then you lose the ability to control the narrative, with the result that the ‘extremes’ move to form their own movement. We saw it with Brexit and I feel we will see it again in light of the Supreme Court Ruling. Sunak may have done more damage than he realises by ousting the person who doubtless, if she had remained, would now be engineering the UKs exit from the ECHR. Another force may evolve to do just that…

Sunak may have done more damage than he realises by ousting the person who doubtless, if she had remained, would now be engineering the UKs exit from the ECHR. Another force may evolve to do just that… If the Reform Party, led by somebody like Farage, seek to turn the next GE into a straightforward 'referendum' on the UK exiting the ECHR then they could potentially win a controlling interest in the UK Parliament. The line in the sand is there. Labour HAVE to back the ECHR. As do the Tories.
