We would have won against Forest with Wilf I am sure, we just lacked his extra quality. One person shouldn't make a team and that is going too far, but he so often has that edge, he is quite unique.

I tend to agree, however, to temper this, he has certainly lost some pace. He's not slow but he is slower. A more standard, crossing winger might do us the world of good when I think about it. For flair and game changing we now have Olise and Eze. Those with a pacy enough winger who creates chances should be pretty good. We might well improve if we get the right kind of player. Ayew and Edouard are not realistic left wingers for the entire season. Ayew can do a job, as we've seen. Edouard has had flashes of being relatively average at left wing but mainly pretty poor. We have to either buy or go with what we've got. We've been linked with Sarr for years. Maybe we'll even sign him now. I wouldn't think he's 20 mil now but could be wrong. Surprisingly decent stats when you look into it. Something like 10 goals this season.

Win ,lose or draw it doesn't matter now,it is more important Wilf makes his mind up what he wants to do,because his indecisiveness now if he stays or goes is cocking up the decision making,of who or what we need to get in for next season!!!

Wilf is still the difference between us and some teams in the League - and he still could be if he wants to stay.

Wilf should consider staying as he has earnt his stripes since Palace came into the EPL. We have seen players move on only to maybe have half a season and not being a starter player. Think of Townsend / Bolasie etc They've all just disappeared, and he loves South London and would be a great asset with the teaching staff. I think he could give the Eagles 2 more years of enjoyment, even with injuries.... and be earning more than enough to get to retirement and be regarded as the best the club has had. I do not think he would make 1st team appearances and just be considered a bench sub to bulk up those European teams that vie for the accolades.

I have loved Wilf over the years and he still has the x-factor quality that is hard to find. The problem in the past was Palace did not have anyone close to his ability hence why in some previous seasons the game plan was just get the ball to Wilf.

All I hope is that we sort it out soon. Even though he isn't what he was, he's still better than most of what we've got and better than what we can get. So I'd love him to stay. But I get the ambition and drive to play higher. Newcastle need some reinforcements, and despite UCL, they are unlikely to be able to attract top top talent as yet. (Same as City, players want to see if this is real before committing). But would Wilf want to relocate out of London, I doubt it. Arsenal is his club, so I get the feeling that it might be them or us. Chelsea and Spurs are both a mess.

Saka plays on the right. However they do have Martinelli and Trossard who play left. Again all about timing and doesnt seem quote right again for him and Arsenal. Cant have too many good players I suppose
