The topic of Selhurst or move has been well thrashed out here already.
My take is we will press on now with the impressive new stand and face lift at Selhurst. We will remove the gantry on the Arthur, adjust the White Horse and fill in the space between the Arthur, Homesdale and New stand.
TV cameras will look onto a very dated Arthur, so we may (wishful thinking) do a very simple facelift even a kind of cantilever roof to eliminate the stanchions and angle the roof up a bit..
We will end up spending c. £150-200m. (of shareholder funds apparently.)

Then the future dream!

If we continue to solidify our Premier status and a European breakaway super league does not materialise, and (BIG if) if we were ever to find a multi billion investor with designs on creating one of the best ever sporting facilities in South London, well then we could move back to Crystal Palace national park, spending say £1-2 billion on creating a 40000 seater stadium surrounded by many attractive bolt ons. (Comprehensive state of the art sports centre, sports clinic, shopping centre (repeating the original Crystal Palace style at the top of the park), improved transport links, hotel, huge underground car park and a very green park overhaul.
With a very ambitious positive plan and a huge investment, I would imagine that with the right positive vibe, even the NIMBYS could be persuaded.
I hasten to add that this dream is way off reality, but would probably ensure that by then if there was ever a Super League, we would be part of it.

I think 40000 capacity is probably the upper limit for what I shall call second tier premier league clubs, of which we are one. If you want to move up the food chain, then any new ground should have a capacity for 60000+. We are currently the only ‘big’ club south of the river, so with West Ham, Spurs, Arsenal all having 60000 grounds, then we should be looking to cement our status with a similar capacity. As the saying goes: build it and they will come. But of course this is all decades in the future!

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

Pessimist! I'm older than you and I expect to "experience my rump making contact with a padded seat in the new "Main Stand"" (assuming the prices aren't in the silly Fulham category).

I took a walk down the river at Fulham the other day. All the construction fencing is still up, the river walk is still closed, and I saw that no one is using the stand on MoD. There was no sign of any works going on and it was mid week.
When we push on with the new stand and ground improvements, hopefully including a roof lift for the Arthur (Stevie when you read this!), we must learn from whatever is holding up Craven Cottage to ensure we dont get those sort of delays.

p.s. how about offering padded seats for season ticket holders in the Arthur. These days with the old joints stiffening up on most cold days, it would be a much loved comfort.
And while im on it, how about those overhead heaters some grounds have!!

Perhaps the builders had to go off to another job?

meanwhile Luton town, Brentford , Blackpool .....and a load of other minnows, are upgrading their facilities. An absence of progress, from us, will see our facilities being good enough for League One. By 2028.

No

What is the point building a ground with the capacity of 60+ when you do not have the fan base for it plus it costs a lot more money. (you need the transport links as well for that many people)

You do as other clubs have build a ground which meets more around fan base max 40 for us but you allow increase if required later on.

Those 3 clubs you mentioned are far larger on global scale to us reputation wise plus income also fanbase. (West ham for example want day trip people to attend yet her people moan they dont want not real fans)

The grounds for those 3 clubs how much you think they cost in todays money each one of them is close to 800m+ (the cheapest out of the 3 was close to 500m around 2004 time)

Hey all, i was chatting to a dad at my son's football match today and his firm are one of two remaining contenders for a contract to be a part of the build of the new main stand at Selhurst Park. I'm avoiding giving more details in case it could cause an issue.

Hopefully this is good news that we will actually see the build happening in our lifetime and Parish will deliver once again on his promises!!!

I really hope he doesn't hand the baton on once the main stand is built. I know we all have different views on his achievements but he has been brilliant as far as i can see.
