Think it was more down to Mitchell getting injured and lack of cover on the left by Eza as the reason we conceded yesterday. Mitchell was having a really good game with most of Brentford’s attacks down his side. Once he went off they capitalised on it. Not sure Richards was the correct choice to replace Mitchell with Schlupp still on the pitch who could have covered. If anything we needed someone else playing left midfield than Eze to support whoever came on as well. Ayew didn’t help at the end but in truth we gave the ball away constantly throughout the 96 minutes as well as our main forward not being able to hold the ball up to relieve pressure on the midfield/defence. But I would have taken that point before the match. We are in for a tough end of season unless we start getting some wins in? Relegation is a strong possibility the way we are playing I’m afraid :-(

our lack of strength in depth is no secret, I have lost count of the number of times this season that it has (at least) appeared that the opposition has targeted key players performing well on the day by rotational fouling to gain advantage through gaps left in our defence through having to replace players leaving the field through injury - Key player goes down, substitute comes on, opposition scores

Utterly infuriating. I like Vieira and am not calling for his head like some of you but some of his in-game management is truly quite baffling. Today with ten minutes left we were absolutely crying out for cool, experienced heads to help see the game out. McArthur and Milovojevic were on the bench, who I would have thought would be perfect for such a task. Yet instead he brings on Ahamada (20), Richards (22) and Edouard (25). Time and time again he fails to see these games out and the amount of points we have dropped from late goals since he arrived must be the most in the league. I have no faith in his substitutions from winnings positions and, indeed, we've dropped 10 points after leading this season. Yet, somehow, from behind his management seems to be spot on. We've taken 14 points after falling behind this season, the joint most in the league. He talks about wanting more goals, so why on earth is Jordan Ayew still starting for us? I am officially at the point now where I do not give one solitary s*** about his defensive contribution or workrate, the bloke's a forward! And we're scored twice from open play in about 4 months. Ayew should not be starting for us, neither should Schlupp or Mateta who is abysmal and I have no idea why we made his loan permanent. If anything bring them on late, or ideally not at all. Eze was outstanding today, I thought. Until Zaha is back I'd like to see him on the left, Olise (brilliant assist) on the right and Edoaurd up front. Until McArthur is fit again, have a midfield of Doucoure and two from Lokonga, Hughes and Ahamada in the middle. Ultimately one win and four goals from 10 league games is relegation form and we HAVE to start being braver and trying to score and win games. Spot on my friend..!! COYP

My simple summary. Most would have taken a point away at Brentford before the game. It's very annoying that with five minutes to go it was looking a foregone conclusion we would concede. Andersen is a very ,very important player for us. I agree, was in the ground and could sense their equaliser coming.Andersen is a class defender.

One win would make such a difference. Yesterday's finale was tragic. Absolutely right. There must have been thousands of us, watching or listening, who, as the clock ticked down, were having pleasant thoughts about how significant this "win" would be in terms of the relegation dogfight. I don't know how long it is since I felt (and feel) so deflated.

Every team time wastes and it's really annoying, but Andsersen was down for no more than a minute tops and we hardly dragged out throw-ins or goal-kicks. I still think the WC got it right. It seems weird to me that the PL don't want to adopt the same model, as it is the only fair way to do it otherwise teams will always try and waste time knowing much of it isn't added on. Having said all that, adding 6 minutes when there were no long stoppages yesterday was not reflective of the time being added to other PL games I've seen of late. I'm not blaming it for the draw, but I just question it is all. Brentford are one of the worst teams for time wasting/s***housery, I was finding it funny tgat they were getting annoyed. Typical it comes back to bite us

Our last minute conceding is a lot to do with our lack of footballing nouse. I would count our only 'smart' player as Andersen. Some of the others are highly experienced, yet can hardly be called world beaters at calm and composed decision making. Take Wilf for example - he's improved but not exactly consistent or wise, like most of our more experienced players. We're not exactly clever. Can't particularly blame the youngsters, there's no on pitch leadership really. Guehi so busy fending off every attack that he doesn't really ever seem to have time to say much as captain.

Wasting time has always been part of the game, whether you like it or not. The question is not whether you do it, but how. Look at how ManU played down the clock at the end when we played them a fortnight ago. That's the difference.
