Exactly. Palace in the blood - couldn't get rid of it if I tried.
But I don't think we'll be relegated THIS year.

Our U18s currently 2nd in their PL, the U21s third in theirs, they are playing Man.City Chelsea Arsenal on a regular basis.

Plus there is an entire team out on loan.

It's a struggle to see any logic in Kouyate's departure or what strategy we have.

But we are brimming with talent, several have appeared on the bench just not had their opportunity.

AWB got his chance only because Roy had no-one else fit, and the rest is history.

I don’t think so either, we’re having a poor run, it happens every season a couple of times usually, but we survive because there’s no panic and those with a half a brain know it’s a long season and you’re NOT as good or bad as your last few games. But if it did happen, we’ll still be Palace enjoying the ride, just in the championship instead

Frankly, might be better. At least something to challenge for other than mediocrity.

Don’t disagree sadly, especially when you see Chelsea spending another 30 million on a player and us not having any money to strengthen. Just wish we had got some silverware in our ten (hopefully 11) seasons in the premiership for this old geezer to show for his near on 60 years supporting Palace :-(

How very dare you! Middle table obscurity is a challenge!

Exactly why relegation doesn’t bother me, i can’t lose, if we stay up great, another year in the premier league, but if we do manage to go down, at least it would freshen it up again after 10 years in the same division. The team would be completely different and no-one can say the championship is boring.

And before anyone says be careful what you wish for because we might struggle in the that division or end up like Charlton……still not bothered!! It’s all about following the team, not who we’re playing or about how much money we’ve got coming in.

That's fine if you are an occasional supporter but if you have an ST and live further away the number of midweek games becomes a bit of a drag.

Then if the team goes though a bad run it becomes even tougher. Not so long ago We used to play in front of an empty AW void except for the away fans.

The Prem has increased support such that we pretty much sell out every week.

I hope I get to see the new stand and try it out. I may even switch to it myself. I love a prawn sandwich!

Of course you’re right, also I know after two or three years back in the championship or worse I’ll probably be yearning for the premier league again. I’m just trying to say that the premier league is not the be all and end all, we’ve had some cracking times and results in the championship and even back in the division 3 days, it’s all about being Palace whatever division we’re in

It's this that's bothering me. The transfer fees and money spent is the main criterion for success. That's not sport really. There should be an out and out season transfer limit. It's the Premier League and the Champions League that scuppers that. Makes me wonder if the whole Leicester thing was just a con to have us fans believe it isn't just money.

So you'd be happy to be back in the championship with the loss of £100m+ of PL revenue and back to 10-13k attendances...sod that. As an established PL outfit of the last 10 years we should have a strong enough and balanced squad by now to be protecting that revenue stream, how many championship sides would want to be in our position - all of them.

In my view we should f*vk the new stand off for the time being and plough some of that money (assuming we have some) into sorting the squad out. The new stand can be done later and perhaps in stages so it at least looks like the club is moving Selhurst forward...but squad strength is what is required because without it we will end up back in the championship.
