Yes it's beginning to look like that is correct, he certainly lacks the enthusiasm and skills of CG, not sure if he was worth 21m that we are supposed to have paid for him!

Have to disagree. CD looks our best midfielder by far, he is doing the job of 2. Give him some decent support and you will have one hell of a player on our books

What a terrible advert for the Premier League and a near humiliation from the bottom club.

I am not sure the manager knows what his best team is - doesn't have much clue how to combine what talent we have.

Just two decent shots, Eze's over the bar and a good save from Ward to keep out Edouard.

Oh for somebody to hold the ball for a few moments instead of quick 'passes' to marked colleagues.

I haven't yet heard PV's after match comments but I hope he speaks the truth, that we were awaful.

Yeah, I've mentioned this and I totally agree with you.

The match highlights consist of the referee blowing the final whistle and getting off the pitch as quickly as possible.

I disagree. I thought he was fairly competent, particularly in view of how badly everyone around him was playing.

I may be in the minority here . But i actually agree with you there. He had a job to do and done it well . At least he tried to lift the team but they werent having any of it . A bad day at the office all around but respect the point .

I’m inclined to agree.

I’ve mentioned before but he’s very much the all round midfielder for me in being able to do most things quite well. He would be the perfect third piece alongside a more attacking midfielder and a defensive holding midfielder. Expecting him to do all three roles is not realistic. Just about every match 1 or even both of those playing with him there are not ‘centre midfielders’ which makes unclear his actual role imho. He’d be ideal for instance in a traditional 4-4-2 or in this side with say Gallagher and prime Jedi.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Is Jairo slightly overweight? He may have that build but certainly looks like he could shed a few pounds.
Schlupp has a similar build and probably puts on weight easy but he looks like he spends more time in gym than than Jairo and looks much better.

Felt like going back in time today for a bit of Royball - clinging on for a point with Luka and Jairo in the mix. No effort, no commitment, lucky to get away with a point today.

Need an upgrade on Wardy at right back. He was targeted today and was shocking in the first half.

I'm still puzzled as to why Jeffrey "I can only pass backwards" Schlupp starts most weeks. So bang average its ridiculous. Hughes and Dacoure should be in the centre. I would take Luka or Jairo over him any day of the week. That was as bad as I've seen in a while. 100% agree that we need a RB. Ward, Schlupp, Luka, Ayew are substitutes at best, although at least Wardy and Ayew put a shift in most weeks

Schlupp motm for me.

Uphill,I was at the match and you are 100% correct, thank goodness Guiata had a great game today (apart from his distribution)as the match went along we got steadily worse. Wilf is currently wasted on the wing the way we are playing, maybe play him down the middle as Mateta and Edouard are exactly worth their places at the moment, start Olise on the wing is an option that would help our forward play. Why oh why are we so predictable playing out from the back, far too many sideways and backward passes usually resulting in a long ball from Anderson or a pass down the line to a marked player. Hope we have some better ideas for Tuesday.

Ward had no help whatsoever for the whole match, he can't mark two players at the same time,Ayew who played wide right didn't help him at all especially in the first half, if anything it was Mitchell that was having a shocker.

Not sure it's that simplistic, it's about giving all, for 90 minutes and setting an example to the younger players. Wilf blows hot and cold too much these day's, he should have been running rings around LC today but never really looked interested!

Zaha is in his comfort zone. Turns up when he can be bothered. I won't be too disappointed when he goes, we need to get past the "Wilf is our Saviour" mentality and move on.
It would be good to see Ebiowei get a run out.

Yep I agree. I thought Schlupp had a great game. What concerns me is there just seems to be something not quite right this season. Mitchell looks a shadow of the player that got called up for England last season. He was never great going forward but he is really lacking in confidence with the ball at his feet.

Reidewald offered far more going forward but at the same time got caught out defensively a couple of times.

At this rate I really think we need two new full backs (one on each side and another winger and striker.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
