We have got to be patient, PV IMO is doing a superb job moulding the squad into a passing/pressing team. This will take time and we as fans must give it time. We have again IMO a very good squad and a few exceptional talents, we are have a tough spell at present but I am sure we will start scoring again soon. COYP

Finally someone talking sense .

One real serious mistake ..by Mitchel, stop panicking yourself and us because you've no need to.

It wasn't Mitchell, although he struggled with postioning and the flight of the ball, it was the two who stood off and allowed the cross. I'm looking at the reply and I think one of the players who stood off is Eze. I may be wrong.

Not a popular thing to say I know, but the ref today was actually quite good!

Except he forgot to get his yellow card out earlier. 20 fouls committed by Chelsea to our 4 according to the BBC!

It was Clyne that dithered. He went towards Alonso and then went back again. It was too late once he realised and went to close him down again.

If the team 3rd from bottom continue on the same points per game ratio. They finish the season on 28 points. We are on 26 now. Still have Burnley , Watford x 2 , Newcastle etc.
Plus there’s 4 teams between us and the bottom 4. It’s not been great but we aren’t in a relegation battle. Yet.

Young Mitchell is clearly talented and has developed well since he made the first team squad, and I take it from the various posts that overall he had yet another good game today, but the mistake he made is a recurring problem. Just watched the highlights and he was also caught flat-footed for the disallowed goal - again with the scorer coming behind him. He did exactly the same thing against Liverpool.
That said, in any game players will make mistakes, and not scoring gilt edged chances, is just as culpable. But the biggest mistake today was made by PV in not playing a CF, or at least not bringing one on, either when we were on top, or in the last 20, when a draw was on the cards. Say what you like about CB but he can hold the ball up, Eduard does have reasonable positional sense, and shoots more than the other two. Clinton Morrison said as much on Sky, “Why have three
strikers on the bench?”

Yes, the nearer of the two was Clyne, but the other I'm pretty sure was Eze who had just come on, and as another poster has remarked, Eze did his thing whereby he jogs alongside but never is in position to be physically involved; the wrong substitution at the wrong time. Crosses have cost us previously, and to see the way the Chelsea player had all the time in the world without being challenged is particularly frustrating.

So annoying 89th bloody minute. We really didn't deserve that. Our midfield looks better with Jimmy Mac and Kouyate back hustling for second balls and not letting chelsea have it all their own way. Created some good chances too, fine margins but AAAAhhhhh 89 minutes ..... its the hope that kills you.

Ultimately you fully understand that Mitchell made the mistake that allowed their opportunity.

You've forgotten about that ref then have you?

So we didn’t miss any chances against Liverpool? Yes the ref was white but that is irrelevant when considering our poor finishing
