I reported done deal and it wasn't.

Now they say done deal with Everton.

And I'm not sure that's fact.

From now on I'm reporting nothing till it's on CEEFAX

VDB or Schlupp in midfield?

By the time we play our next prem game it’s likely we’d have Macca and Kouyate available again. So realistically the question is; who do we play alongside Kouyate and Gallagher? Hughes, Macca, Schlupp or VDB (if he joins). He’s be my 4th choice.

Or Eze. Of Rak-Sakhi. Or Scott Banks. Tired of seeing good prospects being moved on aged 23. If AWB had not come in to cover Ward’s injury he was due to be loaned out to Colchester. Would have been sold to Yeovil or MK Dons by now.

We've had this discussion before when releasing youngsters. Palace actually have a good track record unlike Chelsea, very few players leave us and go onto to better things. The obvious ones who did were Alan Devonshire and Stan Collymore so that was decades ago.

Where the club can be faulted is perhaps we keep these players too long on our books. If they don't make it elsewhere which most don't why did we not get rid sooner.

Of course, Mason Greenwood may have scuppered any deal

- Eze hasn't yet got to grips with PV's pressing game and also isn't yet fully match fit from the little we've seen of him (and perhaps still, psychologically, struggling to trust his injured leg in the tackle.
- Rak-Sakyi isn't going to replace Olise or, if you were thinking of midfield, Gallagher.
- Scott Banks has been absent from the Academy side for a while now. I don't know how true it is but I read that he has had Covid and has struggled with it and not yet recovered and so is not therefore available.

Finally, which good prospects who have moved on did you have in mind?

I think you were correct though

Deal done with the club. Everton has done a similar deal now

Van de Beek is now due to decide whether he prefers a move to Everton or Crystal Palace.

Hmm

London verses Scouseland

PV versus Fun Time Frankie

If it was me an easy decision. However if he has a house oop north Everton would be an easy commute.

I hope he chooses us.

What makes you think that you know better than Patrick Vieira whether academy players are ready for the rigours of Premier League football?

This is exactly wpt I've been thinking. Don't want him coming in for 6 months and upsetting the applecart. Think we could do with cover elsewhere in the team imo!

DvdB Girlfriends dad is Bergkamp - played for Arsenal, he is more likely to have a decent house in London & the pregnant girlfriend would be nearer her parents - (mostly speculation on my part)

Everton - Haven't offered Lampard the job yet & he hasn't accepted - Maybe things will happen on Monday morning ? - So news now are asking readers to consider that Lampard on his first morning in the job demands that Everton sign DvdB on loan - Everton are in a downward spiral, would adding another wage bill to that help them ?
What assurances can Everton give DvdB that he is anywhere in their plans for the rest of the season, they dont even have a director of football or a manager with a plan - I am not saying he wont go to Everton but if he does then someone within Everton must have had a serious influence on the boy to get him to make that choice.

Let him go to Everton.

This is not a position we need to strengthen and not at the wages he commands.

If we can afford to buy, then buy a defender.
