It was a decent display and a very important result even though it was against a poor Norwich team missing crucial players (as were we). With Andersen going off injured I doubt he will be available for Westham? Gallagher going from the lack of information when asked about before and after the game must be a doubt also?

Is it a coincidence that Mateta played just before the transfer window opened? Put him in the shop window? Took his goal well.

Clearly, we have more experience in our squad than I previously imagined. Should we be thinking about moving on anyone especially with Africon and FA Cup coming up? Not forgetting Covid and injuries too.

Mateta has scored two very good goals but overall reminds me of a certain Yaya Sanogo. Remember him, loaned from the Gunners?

A much needed 3 points against a doomed Norwich team, and under the circumstances we couldn’t have asked for more. Anyone having doubts about Will Hughes would have seen yesterday that was money well spent. We will need him Saturday along with Gallagher to get something from the West Ham game.

I can't recall seeing a worse team than Norwich at Selhurst since we came up. From our side, we did what we had to do and it was important to not slip up. Credit to Mateta for an excellent finish, but I haven't changed my mind about him. I'm a big fan of Edouards positivity on the ball and thought he was the pick of the bunch yesterday.

I agree with you, although a welcome three points against a very poor side I was alarmed at how many chances we let them create against us.I hate to think how many goals we could have conceded against top half strikers..We were very lucky not to have conceded at least two today if not for Vincente’s super save and Wardies great block. On the plus side,a win is a win. That is the flip side to open attacking football. Against west ham we will be more cautious. Create less concede less. Least I hope so!

We beat a poor Norwich team. when we play teams like that in the past we make hard work of it . today made it a easy win. plus sides clean sheet , 3 goals , another win without Wilf. Downside, Goal keeper whos more scared of crosses than Dracula , cant catch cant punch CH nightmare's pressure on defence to stop crosses. Both CH need to learn to jump very static with crosses but thats down to GK not commanding his area, so they dont know whether to mark or cover the keeper. West Spam next be interesting what team we play, with 4 extra players available could be another good show from us. we mustn't lose i drink in a west spam pub COYP

Just watched Roberts on his after match interview, I thought his answer as to why Gallagher was omitted from squad was somewhat evasive, did not say he was injured or unwell, strange It’s probably for reasons of medical confidentiality. I actually think it’s kind of unethical for journalists to ask ‘so has he got covid then?’ as the BBC journalist said. I mean, he probably has, but it isn’t really right for Roberts to say unless he has Gallagher’s express permission.

But if so it rules out just being rested, or an injury problem surely. If it was Covid, we lose him for a few games, so that’s not so good. Worst of all is the idea that Chelsea, have had a massive bid made for his services, and everybody is holding their breath, including , Roberts.
