Great result, we really needed one.
I had Gallagher 1st goal Palace 2-1. Still celebrated the 3rd goal. Great strike.

We were really good for most of today. The last 15 was pretty hairy.

Hughes was a really good addition. Interesting to see him playing as the DCM. But significantly better than CK there. He can receive the ball on the half turn and happy in position. A playmaker with an engine. Linked up well with Gallagher, and most importantly allowed CG to get higher up the pitch. Hoping Viera was just saving his legs for midweek.

Tomkins was a lot better, partly as Everton didnt press v well, but partly as Hughes was always available to him, givimg him another option (and preventing him having to go long)

Ayew was superb. He might not score many (any), but he is smart and so good in tight situations. 2 assists today should keep he boo boys at bay for a game or 2!

OE, actually held the ball up pretty well, put himself about a bit.

Wilf....Really struggling with him at the min....for me he did les than just not really adding much. Gave the ball away constantly. Pretty frustrated he wasn't taken off. Would have much rather given Olise or Eze some minutes

Think getting that midfield balance made all the difference today.

It's less about the quality of the players in there really, but on how they complement each other. Because Hughes came in, Kouyate didn't have to worry about being a playmaker and could focus on what he's good at, tackling. And because he did that, Connor didn't have to drop in and tidy up so much, and could do what he does best, which is get forward and make things happen.

We will play much better teams this season. Everton were almost as bad as Newcastle, but so important for confidence to stop the mini rot.

If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4

Not getting carried away. We're three points off eighth after nearly half the season and should have about 6 more points were it not for silly last minute errors.

Only the top four plus Brighton have lost fewer games than us, we're the seventh highest scoring side in the division and frankly it feels like we haven't played close to our full potential yet.

I'm not saying we'll get European qualification but this is undoubtedly our best ever chance and I believe that if we have luck with injuries for the rest of the season and maybe another signing or two in January, we can do it.

Break the bank, make him top Warner and captain if he wants. Must throw the kitchen sink to keep him.

He wants to stay at Chelsea, his words not mine

I am not a lover of Ayew but I must admit this first half performance was superb , although he miss yet another chance of a goal . Where was he in the second half , nowhere to be seen . Such a shame after his first half .
All in all a good day at the office .

Thought he was great 2nd half. Tracking back, winning free kicks and giving Godfrey a hellish time

Ayew was fantastic in the first half although missed another opportunity. I think for 90 mins our midfield ran the game and won the match for us. Gallagher and Hughes were fantastic together and do not underestimate Kouyate either, broke up the play and kept it simple. When Hughes went off the difference was noticeable.

Zaha had another forgettable performance. He seems more interested in picking a fight with the opposition than gliding past his man. Made countless wrong decisions going forward and lacked interest for most of the match. He was in Colemans pocket today. Personally I would drop Zaha for next match and give Eze a chance.

Here’s a question: does Andersen get back in the team? We’ve looked more solid defensively with Tonks I think.

I think he has to Sprites as he suits our new football style more. By far the best passer in our back 4.

Just needs to get better at defending the ball over the top..

I’m 100% not convinced with Anderson and my heart is sometimes in my mouth when he’s passing it out from the back. I would keep playing Tomkins.

The beatings will stop when morale improves.
