For the sake of the club I think that you should contact Dougie Freedman and tell him that he's wasting his time with this duff striker

You can only beat what is in front of you,he may kick on.

Adam Armstrong is NOT in the Blackburn squad for today's game. That is very telling that they have left out their star and top scorer. Certainly looks like he will be on the move....Question is who to?

That was announced earlier in the week because Blackburn didn't want to have their star player injured whilst the bidding for him was going on.

Blackburn know they have to sell him this window or see him disappear on a free next summer. He's unlikely to be signing an extended contract. At 24 this is the time for him to move to the PL and he surely knows that.

As I've said in an earlier post, it's a question of who blinks first, Blackburn or one of the players suitors. It's going to be like a game of chicken.

It's not a question of if he moves but to which PL club will he be moving.

Just watched this highlight video of his 30 goals from last year...

About 5/6 penalties
8 mistakes from the keeper or shots that would have been saved by premier league goalies
Couple deflections
And the rest bang average uninspiring finishes.

Not one goal that I’d say was a fantastic strike even the one off his chest from outside the area would have been saved in the premier league.

People saying he’s a young Glenn Murray no way

I just hope I’m wrong

Just took a look - you are wrong, so we can all relax. Seriously though, there were several quality goals in that lot. The chip was class as was the one v Millwall. Of course you can blame defensive errors but he was in the right place at the right time and took the chances. Its been nearly a decade since we had a player we could rely on to score in that manner.

Looks like we are playing our best poker face as we believe we are the players choice. Blackburn will know they need to sell this window or lose a huge chunk of cash in the next window or lose him for free at the end of the season. Believe he can sign pre-contract in January.

Must admit haven’t followed Armstrong that closely, reminds me of AJ a little, although doesn’t seem as strong running with the ball. Looks a proper number 9, nearly all goals inside the box. How we’ve missed that type of striker. He will offer us something different, can see him even playing with Benteke if we wanted to play a 2 at times. Hope we can get it done. The way parish and Dougie are smashing it out the park I wouldn’t be surprised.

Very surprised that we would bid anything like 20 millions for a championship striker, they beat Swansea yesterday without him.

I can't see SP being drawn into a money-pit transfer race, purely because the season is about to start.

We have areas particularly with Townsends departure that need filling.

Defiantly going to be a bit of a case of tough negotiations. Mowbray has spoken to local papers in Lancashire and said:

“I think the club are right to have a valuation and it needs meeting.

“These clubs that have bids in for him, for me, the Premier League, you see some of the money. We’re arguing over a few quid here and there. [Just] pay the asking price, get the job done and let’s get on with it!”

Feels like gamesmanship on both sides. I think a meet in the middle deal will be done for 15mill plus add ons.

Just added to that is he also said ,”there is a cut off line”, probably this week .
I would like to see us get Armstrong, because we need a player of his sort, but only if the price is right. With that in mind I’m hoping we have other irons in the fire. Mowbray, says, Armstrong won’t play in their next match,, but after that he see,s him as their player end of.
So whatever the outcome it looks like this coming week Armstrong’s immediate future will be decided.

We are still linked with various players:

Adam Armstrong
Will Hughes
Reiss Nelson
Centre Half

My feeling is that only Armstrong is a key target I suspect the others we would like but are not prepared to to get into a bidding war with other clubs.

Nelson I think will be a loan unless Arsenal receive a bid so maybe a deadline day job.

Hughes I don't see as guaranteed a place in the team so only if the money is right.

We will probably pick up another CH.

As for Armstrong I think Norwich and Southampton need him more than us so it could get messy I guess it depends on how much money we have left. The worry is that we don't seem to have an alternative if we lose out.

They’re getting desperate. Probably pick him up for less than £15m. Don’t think anyone is very keen.
