I'm staying on target.
This isn't about where Hancock chooses to stick his cock.
His wife and children are of little concern to me.

This is all about following correct procedures for hiring of personnel, and procedures for awarding Covid contracts. Also (potentially) using personal email addresses for Government business, expense claims for trips and how family/friends got financial benefit from Hancock's decision-making.

And IF Hancock did anything, you can bet he won't be the only one implicated.

This is a slow burner, and I bet a few members of Government are having squeaky-bum moments.

I disengage, I turn the page.

Really sorry to hear about your loss. Refreshing to read your post. I agree the people to feel sorry for in this saga are the families.
Keep your chin up and take care

Thank you.

I agree it’s about the families - but in context.

My dad was 72. The girl in the room next to him was 25 and heading for a ventilator. That’s s*** and a tragedy.

How we all act behind closed doors is a reflection of how we will be remembered. Whether Hancock was an idiot isn’t up for debate and whether he wears a blue or red ribbon matters not. He was The Health Secretary - he had to go, there is no doubt over that.

The one thing that does grate me is being told what I should be upset by. My dad’s brother died of cancer caused by Asbestos. That’s a crap way to go. I’d take Covid over that. Not everyone being able to be there is s***, as is the lack of funeral. Your world may stop spinning, the whole world doesn’t.

I’ve also seen first hand how much PPE was used so I couldn’t give a fig if someone made money out of it. That’s for someone and their conscience. Personally I think they did well getting as much as they did.

Death happens, there isn’t always someone to blame and it’s a part of life. 80 years ago we fought the Germans et al, and but for the grace of god there hasn’t been a war for two generations. Sooner or later we all have to eat a piece of s***, Covid could have been a lot , lot worse.

In a world where we we seem to have messages about stopping online hate in all its forms at every possible turn, the woke types have been completely ruthless with their attacks on Matt Hancock.

I don't say he doesn't deserve criticism. Just that it comes from people that preach on thing, and then do something completely different when it suits them.

Whilst I may have been uncompromising in my opinion of some public figures, I'm quite comfortable taking flack from people with opposing views. These hypocritical lefties that are revelling in the break-up of two marriages would be the first to play a victim card if any critisism was aimed at them.

There are always people who oppose those in public view (and are different people depending on Who they're talking about). Which in itself is fine. But the problem is that only the nay-sayers get any airtime.
Outrage is a much more marketable emotion than admiration.
This brings out the politically correct brigade who live their lives in a whiter than white manner and have never said a bad word about anyone (who lives life in the 'right' way, obvs!)

In this case, the perpetrators of this 'leak' have publicly ripped a family apart, which however way you look at it, is not their place to do so. What's more have done so purely to sideswipe a political enemy or to make money - most likely both - with no thought to the repercussions or turmoil for the people affected.

This isn't about Hancock's marriage trouble. That is entirely of his own making.

This is about political accountability and due process. Both you would hope were in abundance during giving of contracts and employment of staff.

Surely Mr Hancock and his bit on the side have done that?

I also think it's worth clarifying; I don't think most people's outrage here is just based on the fact he had an affair - it's the fact he's had an affair whilst lecturing the country on the importance of following the rules and making a personal sacrifice for the collective good. People didn't get to say goodbye to parents and partners based on his rules, and he couldn't even sacrifice a quick shag with his mistress - how can you pretend that's not something to be outraged about?

Society was socially conservative back then.

Social liberalism, has some good aspects, but as the leading culture it is a predictable gradual societal decline into degeneracy.

Even as recently as the Major government, David Mellor and Tim Yeo had the decency to resign when caught out indulging in a bit of non-uxorial wick-dipping.

Now, such behaviour appears to be almost compulsory in the modern Tory party. Perhaps that's why Conservatism appeals to Willo so much.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I was going to say is it only restricted to the Tory Party until I looked at some of the other party candidates and realised an affair is an unlikely occurrence.

To be a leader in a crisis you need experience of crises, good judgement, speed of responsiveness and the ability to take others with you on the journey

I have learned this from responding (not just reacting) to crises.

Hancock had none of the requisite skills

Was it his fault? Well I guess he put himself forward. Was it BoJo’s fault? Well he put someone he considered fing hopeless into the role and took absolutely no action as that became clear.

I have to be honest Hancock has always come across as about as interesting as Geoffrey Howe.

What was this bird thinking? Who wakes up in the morning and thinks I want to shag Hancock.

How that guy ever got anywhere is beyond me.

The aphrodisiac of power and money has been responsible for many a dullard getting getting their end away for many years.

I still remember the late great Caroline Aherne in her Mrs Merton persona asking 'the lovely' Debbie McGee what first attracted her to the multi millionaire magician Paul Daniels to much laughter.

Sorry to hear that - very sad.
My post may have come out wrong.
He deserved to go for sure but too many hypocrites having a pop at him.
He deserves nothing but scorn though.
