Any moron can set up a camera in their mum’s spare room spouting any old unfounded sh*te and you lap it up. And they’re so convincing you have the arrogance to call people who aren’t like you ‘normies’ like you’re on some sort of higher enlightened plane when really you’re just swallowing a load of crap from someone who dropped out of university because he missed his mum and is angry with the world because he couldn’t make it. Seriously Dan, why do you have to personalise every topic? If you wanted a discussion on the merits of mainstream v alternative media that's one thing. But your schoolyard type 'hatred' is getting boring. Do you seriously want to turn each thread into a slagging match? You can't even get your hatred correct anyway as I specifically told you I take in multiple views on what I'm interested in. Edited by Stirlingsays (19 Jun 2021 11.12am)

Your free speech point is bizarre, I'm not saying you can't comment I'm purely criticising the style. The idea that people will stop watching because the production isn't perfect or that some shows are crap just shows the blind spot that some on the left have for those who don't view the world through their lens. I won't be watching it live though as I sent my BBC cancellation letter last week. Also, I agree with those who see most media news for what it is - gatekeeped and crafted opinion to suit a political demographic. Besides as a social conservative this channel carries that same defeated right wing perspective that exists as nothing more as painkiller as the world around them changes. But on truth in news I've long been of the view that anyone serious about honest opinions has to pick their journalist because objectivity is largely a myth. Most normies don't see the world like that because they are less interested in any particular truth than having their own opinions fed back to them. The great thing about the Internet is....or increasingly was (because censorship has altered the game) the fact that you could easily gain access to different non mainstream takes on the same news event from all political perspectives. So I'd see what Jimmy Dore, Tim Pool, Sargon and others thought about what was controversial. If you're serious about news (and to be fair most people don't have the time) you need that analysis from different political bubbles before your take is truly your own. I wonder if tit-for-tat insulting posts would be done if the parties involved just pm'd each other or does the audience make a difference? I think many would be less interested in confrontation if there wasn't an audience to admire their righteousness , at least in their own mind. I often criticise when posters take positions that are factually wrong or insist their opinions are facts. Generally such posters shirk away for a while when asked to prove their facts or explain a statement. e.g " I am pro China ". When asked what Chinese govt policies they like there is no reply, when pressed it would be a " I don't need to explain myself to you " type reply, fair enough, but if someone posts a potentially controversial comment they should be prepared to back it up. e.g The Conservatives have a majority - fact Everyone who voted for Corbyn is an anti semite - opinion GB News is hate fuelled - opinion GB news is best rated news show at certain hours of the day - fact

Dislikes or on-going arguments will inevitably contain insults (with some posters being notable exceptions). However, when it's every thread it ruins topics. The guy who starts the personal stuff has to own that. As May West didn't say, there's a time and place for everything....well most things anyway.

Not at all Stirling, it was a comment on the preceding post from DanH. I did not quote the post as then under my proposition I would have had to send him a PM and it goes on to infinity Originally posted by Stirlingsays
