I know it's tempting because it's bait but it's best to stop replying to him. There really is no point. He's been ripped open so many times on this forum I've lost count, he's contradicted himself endlessly and he's taken terrible positions defending the establishment....especially over the rape scandals...yet it doesn't impact him one bit. He's so far up his own tube he couldn't tell the light from the dark. He isn't here for debate, he's here strictly to bait and read his own self absorbed commentary.

Do you actually read what I write, or are you just unable to comprehend it? I am not blaming the Police, individually or collectively. Playing the blame game is pointless. No-one is doing these things deliberately. What has gradually become understood is that our society, of which the Police are a part, has systemic built-in racist prejudice which impacts everything. Most of us, whatever our backgrounds, are unaware of it but it is demonstrated in threads like these all the time. The Police, being on the front line, are more often in the spotlight than most of us are. It's not simply a question of who breaks the law gets punished. It's who gets targetted as suspects and who gets ignored because of inbuilt prejudices. It's about the way suspects are handled and whether cases get brought in front of Judges or allowed to walk away with warnings. Biden did not, could not and would not write any such law. That politically he might have supported or even sponsored something is an entirely different issue which would need to be seen in the context that prevailed at the time. For the umpteenth time. I am not a "leftie". I have no sympathy at all for left-wing politics. I am a social democrat who believes in justice for all. I am not a reactionary advocate of right-wing So we are all unconsciously racist.

I presume that is intended to be addressed to me. The idea that I have been "ripped open so many times" is so risible it made me laugh out loud. The delusion that permeates this site knows no bounds. I also am consistent, especially on the "rape scandals" on which I have repeatedly have had to correct this poster and call him out for gross misrepresentation. But you are right on one thing. I am not here for debate. I long ago realised that trying to debate with the group of reactionary bigots who populate this site is a waste of time. No amount of common sense and calm reasoning gets any kind of response other than insult from all but a very few. There are exceptions but they are thin on the ground. I now drop in here from time to time to make sure that these scandalous views are not allowed to stand without challenge. Without you thinking that the views inside your little bubble are shared by many others. Because they aren't. They are seriously weird. I have much more important things to do than try to debate with those who are just a waste of time and effort. There are fertile minds out there which can be infuenced and harnessed so that our country can progress as it must. They aren't found here though.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

So we are all unconsciously racist. No, and I neither said that or implied it. It affects everyone, whatever their background. The way it shows itself varies but our cultural history impacts the behaviour of all in society.

Check your posts as you did imply and stated that the police are racist along with the unknown prejudice in all of us which we are only just seeing. Our cultural history is very long.

Some of the worst examples to highlight your last point, is not about colour ( so not racism) but the caste system in India.
